Weather is an important factor that affects traffic flow and road safety. Adverse weather situations affect the driving conditions directly; hence, drivers must be informed about the weather conditions downstream to adapt their driving. In the framework of intelligent transport systems, several systems have been developed to know the weather situations and inform drivers. However, these systems do not forecast weather in advance, and they need the support of road operators to inform drivers. Abstract. The behavior of tropical clouds remains a major open scientific question, resulting in poor representation by models. One challenge is to realistically reproduce cloud droplet size distributions (DSDs) and their evolution over time and space. Many applications, not limited to models, use the gamma function to represent DSDs. Beliefs about Weather, climate and climate change in secondary school students

Capacity to differentiate between weather and climate and opinions about plausibility of climate change have been studied in secondary school students at different academic levels. Two questionnaires were administred to 151 secondary school students in 8th-12th grades (ages 13-17). Based on the scores obtained by students and the analyses of variance made, it can be concluded that students: a) distinguish appropriately between weather and climate, and students' academic level improves significantly their capacity to differentiate between them; and b) show adequate perceptions about the plausibility of climate change, but these perceptions do not change significantly with the academic level.

RESUMEN En esta Tesis se propone un modelo simplificado de balance de energía de dos fuentes (STSEB) para el cálculo de los flujos energéticos en superficie, cuya principal característica es que los flujos de cada una de las fuentes se consideran totalmente desacoplados. La clave del modelo es la ponderación que se hace de las contribuciones de cada fuente, a cada uno de los flujos totales del sistema, a través de sus respectivas áreas parciales de ocupación.
