Measuring something that cannot be grasped – Reflections about Methodology in Elicitation of Spoken Competence

The focus of this article is on reflections about methodology and the methodical choices in empirical research into the role of consciousness in the acquisition of spoken competence in German as second or third foreign language. Seeing language as a complex, dynamic system, I want to show how learning fluctuates. I would like to demonstrate that there is a continuous fluctuation between nonlinearity and stability which depends on particular driving forces. These forces have to be captured by methods whose aim is to increase the certainty of data. These reflections were proved by a case that wants to demonstrate how a multi-methodical approach works in this direction.

Aula de Comunicación y Lenguaje en los centro de Educación Infantil y Primaria: un estudio de casos

Las aulas de comunicación y lenguaje son unidades de educación especial en centros ordinarios que atienden al alumnado con un Trastorno Mixto del Lenguaje Receptivo-Expresivo o con Trastornos Generalizados del Desarrollo. El objetivo de este trabajo es analizar el funcionamiento de un aula CYL de un colegio público de educación infantil y primaria situado en Valencia, a través de la observación, el análisis documental y las entrevistas a los profesionales; asimismo si las aulas CYL son un instrumento que favorece la inclusión educativa de este alumnado en los centros ordinarios.

Resumen basado en el de la publicación Título, resumen, palabras clave en español e ingles Se describe cómo la mejora de la motivación escolar requiere de un marco teórico que permita establecer estrategias sencillas para guiar a los docentes en su práctica educativa. La teoría de la autodeterminación, con un corpus científico extenso, ha ayudado a entender mejor los elementos que inciden sobre la motivación en la práctica. Multiverse Ethnography: A Qualitative Method for Gaming and Technology Use Research

This article introduces multiverse ethnography as a systematic team-based qualitative method for studying the mechanical, structural and experiential properties of video games and other technological artefacts. Instead of applying the ethnographic method to produce a single in-depth account, multiverse ethnography includes multiple researchers carrying out coordinated synergetic ethnographic work on the same research object, thus producing a multiverse of interpretations and perspectives. Capturing methodological trends in mobile communication studies

This study investigates methodological trends in mobile communication studies. The articles published over the past 20 years in five journals (Communication Research, Journal of Communication, Journal of Computer-Mediated Communication, New Media & Society, and Information, Communication & Society) are analysed. The results show that the quantitative and qualitative studies have increased while theoretical accounts have remained few. The quantitative approach is the most applied.
