Implementing kiva antibullying program in pioner schools in Spain

This study analyzes the implementation of the KiVa Antibullyiing program in Spain with 10 pioneer schools. This research has two aims. The first is a preliminary evaluation of the KiVa program’s implementation in the pioneer schools in Spain. To do so, the perceived levels of bullying and victimization have been analyzed through the surveys done anonymously by the students of 10 KiVa schools before and after the program’s implementation. The survey concerns the bibliometric analysis of the scientific productivity of the 8 Scientific Areas in which the Academic Italian System of Psychology is subdivided (Settori Scientifico-Disciplinari, SSD). To this end, data were retrieved from the Scopus (available at March 2012), one of the most internationally representative scientific databases. [EN] Eduardo Primo Yúfera was the founder of the Institute of Agrochemicals and Food Technology (IATA-CSIC) and was its director until being appointed president of the Spanish National Research Council. Global research on mind-body therapies is analysed, by focussing on scholarly articles on three Eastern disciplines (yoga, tai chi and qi gong) and three procedures (meditation, breathing exercises and relaxation). The bibliographic research was done using the Scopus database. The search was limited to the biomedical areas and to the years 2006-2010. We have analysed 2,363 articles published by 959 different journals. They were written by 6,583 authors from 2,162 institutions in 65 countries. The pblm package: semiparametric regression for bivariate categorical responses in R

We present an R package to fit semiparametric regression models for two categorical responses. It works for both nominal and ordered responses and several types of logits can be specified. Proportional, non-proportional and partial proportional odds models can be fitted, with marginal and association parameters estimated in a parametric or semiparametric way, via penalized maximum likelihood estimation. An application to show the potential of the package is carried out on a data set of Italian university students.
