AbstractRecent metrical studies have proposed that, under certain circumstances, a weak syllable may be adjoined to a binary foot, giving rise to a minimally recursive foot. Adding to a growing body of research from metrical stress and foot-conditioned phenomena in various languages, the goals of this paper are twofold. Synchronization to metrical levels in music depends on low-frequency spectral components and tempo

Previous studies have found relationships between music-induced movement and musical characteristics on more general levels, such as tempo or pulse clarity. This study focused on synchronization abilities to music of finely-varying tempi and varying degrees of low frequency spectral change/flux. Excerpts from six classic Motown/R&B songs at three different tempos (105, 115, and 130 BPM) were used as stimuli in this experiment. Each was then time-stretched by a factor of 5% with regards to the original tempo, yielding a total of 12 stimuli that were presented to 30 participants. Background and purpose: Previous studies on the association between Parkinson’s disease (PD) and body mass index (BMI) have reported conflicting results. We investigated the relationship between PD and BMI by a case–control study. Methods: PD patients were randomly matched to healthy individuals by sex and age. BMI distribution in cases has been compared with BMI of controls and odd ratios (ORs) with 95% CI were calculated. Results: We included 318 PD patients and 318 controls. We observed no association between PD and BMI. Summary The uptake of allantoine-7- 14 C by moss protonema grown in submerged culture is controlled by light and by the degree of catabolisation within the cell. The rate of uptake was enhanced by the application of ATP + glucose to the medium of a dark grown culture. The degradation products of allantoine-7- 14 C in light grown protonema are allantoic acid and urea. Urea is degraded in the Henseleit-Krebs-cycle to ornithine, citrulline and arginine. Tali dati saranno in futuro correlati ad altri parametri clinico-psicologici raccolti (età, sesso, scolarità, MMSE, ADL, IADL).
