Carbohydrates in plant immunity and plant protection: roles and potential application as foliar sprays.

International audience; Increasing interest is devoted to carbohydrates for their roles in plant immunity. Some of them are elicitors of plant defenses whereas other ones act as signaling molecules in a manner similar to phytohormones. This review first describes the main classes of carbohydrates associated to plant immunity, their role and mode of action. More precisely, the state of the art about perception of "PAMP, MAMP, and DAMP (Pathogen-, Microbe-, Damage-Associated Molecular Patterns) type" oligosaccharides is presented and examples of induced defense events are provided. BIO–GEL – a new type of organic fertilizer

A new technology for the production of the BIO -GEL organic fertilizer which is based on physical phenomena with no chemicals used has been suggested. The technology involves reproduction of “wild” microorganisms in peat, biohumus, sapropel, fertile soil. In the course of the production process natural bacteria are hardened at temperatures above 70°С and at low temperatures below - 20°С. The influence of backslopping on lactic acid bacteria diversity in tarhana fermentation

Tarhana is produced at batch systems in which the microbiota has changed accordingly to the microbial load from ingredients. In order to stabilize the microbiota, the effects of backslopping carried out under different temperature regimes (25 and 30 °C), pH (3.70 and 4.00) and inoculation rates (5, 10 and 15%) on lactic acid bacteria (LAB) diversity were determined in tarhana dough. LAB and Total Aerobic Mesophilic Bacteria (TAMB) numbers increased in all tarhana dough samples subjected to backslopping. In comparison to other cereals, oat contains more total proteins, carbohydrate, fat, non-starch fibre, as well as unique antioxidants (one of them - avenanthramides), vitamins, and minerals.
