In the nineteenth century, two Neolithic axe-heads were reported from the Michelsberg enclosure system at Kapellenberg. The recent identification of an unusually large tumulus, from which the axe-heads were almost certainly once recovered, reveals that socio-political hierarchisation, linked to the emergence of high-ranking elites in Brittany and the Paris Basin during the fifth millennium cal BC, may have extended into Central Europe.

International audience; After the 2004 Indian Ocean (IOT) and the 2011 Tohoku-oki tsunamis, new research in tsunami-related fields was strongly stimulated worldwide and also in the Mediterranean. This research growth yields substantial advancements in tsunami knowledge.Among these advancements is the “Paleotsunami” research that has marked particular progress on the reconstruction of the tsunami history of a region. As an integration of the historical documentation available in the Mediterranean and the Gulf of Cadiz areas, geological and geoarchaeological records provide the insights to define the occurrence, characteristics, and impact of tsunamis of the past. This article proposes a reflection about Italian art exhibitions on Middle Ages all over the twentieth century in order to understand the reception of medieval history in Italy. The Italian case is compared with the other European countries and their own relationships with Middle Ages. The articles studies also the important changes in the cultural offer and in the museum function during the last decade of the twentieth century and analyses their major consequences on the exhibitions. Lastly the ‘status’ of the exhibited objects and their mise-en-scene are examined.

L’area del Golfo di Castellammare (Sicilia occidentale) è nota per le numerose fornaci di età romana. In questo articolo, si cercherà di ricostruire l’attività di un’officina destinata principalmente alla produzione di laterizi con bollo ΟΝΑΣΟΥ, databile fra III e I secolo a.C. Ricerche precedenti hanno permesso di riconoscere nel produttore di questi laterizi lo stesso Onasus Segestanus citato nelle Verrine di Cicerone e di localizzarne una possibile officina presso la Baia di San Cataldo. La scoperta di nuovi laterizi bollati e di scarti ceramici assume notevole importanza per una ricerca sugli ateliers ceramici del Golfo di Castellammare e della Piana di Partinico. Les objets en plomb découverts sur le site portuaire médiéval de Taillebourg - Port d'Envaux : typologie, fonction et origine

Des prospections subaquatiques menees dans la Charente, sur le site de Taillebourg – Port d’Envaux (17), ont revele la presence de nombreux temoins d’activites lies au fleuve Charente, dates principalement des periodes merovingienne et carolingienne. Parmi l’abondant mobilier decouvert figure un lot d’objets en plomb.Ces plombs ont ete trouves dans un contexte de pratiques halieutiques. Les premieres interpretations les definissent comme des lests d’engins de peche. La decouverte d’un tel corpus est deja en soi un fait interessant. En effet, la facilite de recyclage de ce materiau de plaide pas pour sa conservation. L’etude de ce materiel a porte a la fois sur la definition de leur typologi…
