This paper deals with the complex relationship between the observation of nature and the development of digital- design processes. This relationship reveals itself aporetic particularly if the concept of mimesis has been clarified. This contribution focuses on some projects that may be ascribed in digital organicism. Challenged by the observation of “The Elephant house” by Markus Schietsch Architekten in Zurich, the paper refers to some fundamental texts that show how an explicit and structured theory may help to avoid a new sublimation of the technique through miming natural forms.

This study explores the writings of Sylvia Plath Forum, a discussion forum in the Internet that was launched in 1998. Using Norman Fairclough’s critical discourse analysis, Chaïm Perelman’s theory of argumentation, Kenneth Burke’s idea of identification as the basis of rhetoric, and René Girards’s theory of mimetic desire as its framework this study looks into the forum’s meaning-making processes and the ways the author Sylvia Plath (1932-1963) and her readers are represented on the forum. Abstract: The essay deals with the theme of mimesis and invention in architecture through the paradigm of transformation, understood as the practice of incessant references and re-elaborations. It does so starting from the theme of the transmission of knowledge in the Aristotelian key that there is always something that lies in what it becomes. The thesis is supported through references to painting, literature, linguistics and neuroscience and uses examples of the architecture of five critically analyzed and de-engineered masters.
Onomatopeya, imitación y poesía en Grecia y Roma

A partir de Platón se desarrolla en la reflexión gramatical y filosófica griega la idea de que ciertos vocablos tienen un origen onomatopéyico, tomándose como modelo de su uso (tanto por su conveniencia como por su condena) su aparición en el epos homérico. Mientras la filosofía vinculará tales palabras, entendidas como onomatopeyas, al origen del lenguaje, los autores de poética y gramática las estudiarán como elementos significativos en la valoración estética de la poesía. La doctrina griega sobre la onomatopeya pasará, a su vez, a las letras latinas.
Teoria malarstwa abstrakcyjnego a Platońska koncepcja sztuki

Tezą artykułu jest twierdzenie, że w założeniach teoretycznych malarstwa abstrakcyjnego odnajdujemy Platońską koncepcję sztuki. Jest to interesująca zbieżność, tym bardziej że jest ona niezależna, nie wynika z inspiracji abstrakcjonistów filozofią Platona, czy odwoływania się do jego koncepcji sztuki. Także Platon nie zakładał rozwoju takiego kierunku w sztuce, a mimo to u podstaw teoretycznych malarstwa abstrakcyjnego odnajdujemy te same prawdziwościowe, poznawcze założenia co w Platońskiej koncepcji sztuki. Określają one zarówno jej istotę, jak i funkcję oraz wartość. Stanowią także wyraz negatywnego stosunku Platona do malarstwa naśladowczego.

Taneli Viljasen romaani kutsuu tarkastelemaan itseään tekstitilana, jossa äänet kaikuvat. Teos hyödyntää tekstuaalisia strategioita, jotka tekevät ääniä yksilöivän paikantamisen ja kokemuksellisuuteen perustuvat tulkinnat lähes mahdottomiksi. Kertomuksen kehyksiin sekä aikaan, tilaan ja kausaalisuuteen liittyvät antimimeettiset ratkaisut toimivat siinä myös queeristi, rikkoen oletuksia sukupuolen luonnollisuudesta, pysyvyydestä ja helposta tulkittavuudesta. peerReviewed
