In the Middle Age, misogyny is a characteristic of many genres and poetic types. Examples are to be found even in Greece, especially in Crete during where the Venetocracy, where the considerable Italian influence is much evident in a lot of texts, like the misogynous Ἔπαινος τῶν γυναικῶν (Praise of Women). The recognition of some motifs and the relation between images of time and space can help to understand the use of topoi by the author and the original elaboration of elements derived from others genres and traditions, like the story of “incarcerated damsel”.
Gendered Violence Online : Hate Speech as an Intersection of Misogyny and Racism

Social media has been adopted by radical right populists and alt-right demagogues as a platform for circulating misogynous and racist hate speech and affectively mobilising supporters. This chapter examines hate speech as a form of gendered and racist violence, focusing on social media posts by two influential right-wing populist politicians: Jussi Halla-aho, the leader of the Finns Party, and Donald Trump, the president of the United States. It demonstrates how these politicians intertwine misogyny and racism in blog posts and tweets that target women in particular. En este breve texto abordamos una aproximación a las relaciones amorosas, la misoginia romántica y su vinculación con las relaciones asimétricas de género en sociedades occidentales contemporáneas, a partir del análisis discursivo de la novela Amor Fou de la escritora Marta Sanz (2018).
