Maldivian Tourist Resorts and their Environmental Impact

In the past two decades, the Maldivians have built up a flourishing tourist industry. Tourist resorts have been established on hitherto uninhabited small islands and by 1990 the number of tourists has increased to nearly 200 000. The Maldivian tourist resorts represent a special type of tropical beach resorts catering only to the tourists’ needs for accommodation, board, leisure and recreation. They are distinctly separate from the islands inhabited by the Maldivians and intercultural communication does not take place. These resorts are in effect ‘tourist enclaves’. In questo lavoro si presenta un modello matematico che consente di calcolare in forma chiusa ed in maniera accurata le frequenze naturali dei gusci cilindrici circolari isotropi a parete sottile e bordi incastrati. L’equazione delle frequenze è stata determinata applicando il principio di Hamilton, mediante il metodo di Rayleigh, al sistema di equazioni indefinite del moto derivanti dalla versione di Reissner della teoria di Love, opportunamente modificata con le assunzioni di Donnell. Designing knowledge construction in pre-service teachers’ collaborative planning talk

In this paper, we report on a qualitative study of student teachers’ collaboration in planning and implementing a course that integrated physics and the Finnish language. Audio-recorded planning sessions and interviews were examined using qualitative content analysis, first, to discover what kind of space for knowledge construction student teachers designed for learners and, second, to identify the characteristics of their collaboration in developing a new cross-disciplinary pedagogical practice. A healthcare environment consists of a number of people who perform different roles, and at differing levels of seniority on the workplace hierarchy. How these people communicate with each other is based on many individual factors, including language, culture, ethnicity, and in what way they perceive their own and others’ seniority. These factors can complicate communication, and lead to communication that is ineffective and/or failed. Tässä tutkimuksessa tutkin yläkoulun äidinkielen ja kirjallisuuden opettajien käsityksiä heidän hiljaisen tietonsa ilmenemisestä. Lisäksi tutkimuksessani keskityn äidinkielen ja kirjallisuuden opettajien hiljaisen tiedon jakamiseen ja jakamiseen liittyviin ongelmiin. Tutkimukseni tavoitteena on saada lisää tietoa äidinkielen ja kirjallisuuden opettajien hiljaisen tiedon luonteesta ja hiljaisen tiedon jakamisesta. Tutkimukseni teoriapohja keskittyy vahvasti hiljaisen tiedon käsitteeseen. Hiljaisen tiedon ajatellaan usein olevan tietoa, jota ei ole muutettu sanalliseen muotoon. Obszarem niezwykłej konkretyzacji tych ideowych metamorfoz stały się osiągnięcia architektoniczne. Willa podmiejska urosła do roli symbolu. Modny typ budowli znalazł w Polsce podatny grunt do rozwoju, gdzie szczególne nasilenie ruchu willowego widoczne było w najbliższych okolicach Krakowa. Świadectwo tego architektonicznego odrodzenia odnotował także Mikołaj Rej, zarówno bystry świadek, jak i komentator swojej epoki.
