Šajā bakalaura darbā “Čornobiļas AES katastrofas atspoguļojums presē no 1986. līdz 1991. gadam LPSR” ietvaros apskatīti preses raksti par Čornobiļas tematiku laika periodā no 1986. gada līdz 1991. gadam Latvijas Padomju Sociālistiskajā republikā. Darba mērķis ir raksturot un analizēt tā laika preses rakstus par Padomju varas reaģēšanu šajā notikuma ietvaros – izprast Čornobiļas ietekmi uz Latvijas sabiedrību. International audience; In this paper, we propose a novel method for pixel-wise scene segmentation application using polarimetry. To address the difficulty of detecting highly reflective areas such as water and windows, we use the angle and degree of polarization of these areas, obtained by processing images from a polarimetric camera. A deep learning framework, based on encoder-decoder architecture, is used for the segmentation of regions of interest. Different methods of augmentation have been developed to obtain a sufficient amount of data, while preserving the physical properties of the polarimetric images. This thesis work was carried out using tellurite glasses from the TeO2-ZnO-La2O3 (TZL) ternary diagram for optical fibers manufacturing. The choice to use this system is motivated by the ambition to improve the transmission of optical signals within oxide glasses for which absorption bands related to OH groups are present in the transparency window. To evaluate the synergistic targeting and killing of human hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) cells lacking p53 by the oncolytic autonomous parvovirus (PV) H-1 and chemotherapeutic agents and its dependence on functional promyelocytic leukemia protein (PML).The role of p53 and PML in regulating cytotoxicity and gene transfer mediated by wild-type (wt) PV H-1 were explored in two pairs of isogenic human hepatoma cell lines with different p53 status. Full modal analysis of confocal coaxial elliptical waveguides

An efficient method for analysing confocal coaxial elliptical waveguides is presented. Using elliptical coordinates, the differential Helmholtz equation is transformed into a linear matrix eigenvalue problem by means of the method of moments. The expressions of the vector mode functions for the full spectrum of these guides are constructed, including the TEM, TM and TE modes. The convergence of the method is very good, giving an efficient and accurate code. Comparisons with numerical results found in the technical literature validate the presented theory.
