Detection of Vasodilators From Herbal Components by a Transcriptome-Based Functional Gene Module Reference Approach

2019

Vasodilatation is one of the key therapeutic strategies for the treatment of various cardiovascular diseases with high blood pressure. Therefore, development of drugs assisting blood vessel dilation is promising. It has been proved that many drugs display definite vasorelaxant effects. However, there are very few studies that systemically explore the effective vasodilators. In this work, we build a transcriptome-based functional gene module reference approach for systematic pursuit of agents with vasorelaxant effects. We firstly curate two functional gene modules that specifically involved in positive and negative regulation of vascular diameter based on the known gene functional interactio…

OPERADS AND JET MODULES

2005

Let $A$ be an algebra over an operad in a cocomplete closed symmetric monoidal category. We study the category of $A$-modules. We define certain symmetric product functors of such modules generalising the tensor product of modules over commutative algebras, which we use to define the notion of a jet module. This in turn generalises the notion of a jet module over a module over a classical commutative algebra. We are able to define Atiyah classes (i.e. obstructions to the existence of connections) in this generalised context. We use certain model structures on the category of $A$-modules to study the properties of these Atiyah classes. The purpose of the paper is not to present any really de…

Representations of Certain Banach C*-modules

2004

The possibility of extending the well known Gelfand–Naimark– Segal representation of *-algebras to certain Banach C*-modules is studied. For this aim the notion of modular biweight on a Banach C*-module is introduced. For the particular class of strict pre CQ*-algebras, two different types of representations are investigated.

Tensor product characterizations of mixed intersections of non quasianalytic classes and kernel theorems

2009

Mixed intersections of non quasi-analytic classes have been studied in [12]. Here we obtain tensor product representations of these spaces that lead to kernel theorems as well as to tensor product representations of intersections of non quasi-analytic classes on product of open or of compact sets (© 2009 WILEY-VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. A procedure to calculate the I–V characteristics of thin-film photovoltaic modules using an explicit rational form

2015

Abstract Accurate models of the electrical behaviour of photovoltaic modules are effective tools for system design. One or two diode equivalent circuits have been widely used even though some mathematical difficulties were found dealing with implicit equations. In this paper, a new model based on a simple rational function, which does not contain any implicit exponential form, is presented. The model was conceived in order to be used with thin-film photovoltaic modules, whose current–voltage curves are characterised by very smooth shapes. The parameters of the model are evaluated by means of the derivatives of the issued characteristics in the short circuit and open circuit points at standa…

An accurate one-diode model suited to represent the current-voltage characteristics of crystalline and thin-film photovoltaic modules

2020

Abstract In this paper a new one-diode model, conceived in order to be used to represent the current-voltage curves of both crystalline and thin-film photovoltaic modules, is presented. The model parameters are calculated from the information contained in the datasheets issued by manufactures by means of simple iterative procedures that do not require the assumption of simplifying hypotheses. Some innovative relations describing the dependence of the parameters from the solar irradiance and cell temperature are adopted in order to permit the model to reliably simulate the electrical behaviour of photovoltaic devices operating in real conditions. The ability of the model to calculate the cur…

Towards sustainable Net Zero Energy Buildings: life cycle energy performances and environmental impacts of a prefabricated building module

The impact of prefabrication in the building sector is currently undergoing significant growth. Although prefabricated buildings cannot in any situation replace conventional buildings, they have some characteristics, such as reduced construction time, higher safety during construction if compared to traditional buildings and modularity, that make them competitive in specific applications, that are undergoing substantial increase importance and market relevance. However, in a context where the transition towards a low-carbon energy system is quickly becoming an important target of scientific efforts and research, prefabricated buildings, as well as any other type of building, will have a key…

Wireless MAC processors: programming MAC protocols on commodity hardware

2012

Programmable wireless platforms aim at responding to the quest for wireless access flexibility and adaptability. This paper introduces the notion of wireless MAC processors. Instead of implementing a specific MAC protocol stack, Wireless MAC processors do support a set of Medium Access Control “commands” which can be run-time composed (programmed) through software-defined state machines, thus providing the desired MAC protocol operation. We clearly distinguish from related work in this area as, unlike other works which rely on dedicated DSPs or programmable hardware platforms, we experimentally prove the feasibility of the wireless MAC processor concept over ultra-cheap commodity WLAN hardw…
