Stèles funéraires d'époque ibérique

2003

We wish to present in this paper a general study of the funereal stelas in Iberian culture. We begin with the analysis of the Peninsular tradition preceding the development of the Iberian world in order to consider this type of funereal monument within the landscape of cemeteries which seem to be more and more complex and varied. We will assess the different groups of stelas (5th-1st centuries B.C.) on the basis of their morphology, iconography and, in some cases, epigraphs. We present some examples from the provinces of Castellón and Teruel which have been subjected to recent studies.

An integrated program of geophysical survey, coring, and test excavations to study a 4th millennium bc-cal ditch at Alt del Punxó (Muro de L’alcoi, A…

2008

The potentially long and interesting archaeological sequence revealed by systematic survey at the site of Alt Del Punxó (Muro de l’Alcoi, Alacant) was the basis for initiating a study of the locality’s subsurface structures using new methods of remote sensing. Geophysical survey (magnetometry and tomography) and systematic augering revealed buried structures, including monumental earthworks, and guided subsequent excavations to collect more detailed data about the nature and age of these prehistoric features. The information recovered, including new radiocarbon dates, offers a new perspective on the organization of prehistoric populations in this region of south-central Valencia since the b…

2018

This article presents eight Roman inscriptions found in Hispania with reiteration of epigraphic formula D(is) M(anibus) s(acrum) or D(is) M(anibus). All these testimonies can be dated between the II and III centuries A.D. The geographical distribution shows isolated samples without connection.

The “little background music of architecture”: critical approach to archival sources of the 20th century in regional area

2022

Stochastic Vulnerability Assessment of Masonry Structures: Concepts, Modeling and Restoration Aspects

2019

A methodology aiming to predict the vulnerability of masonry structures under seismic action is presented herein. Masonry structures, among which many are cultural heritage assets, present high vulnerability under earthquake. Reliable simulations of their response to seismic stresses are exceedingly difficult because of the complexity of the structural system and the anisotropic and brittle behavior of the masonry materials. Furthermore, the majority of the parameters involved in the problem such as the masonry material mechanical characteristics and earthquake loading characteristics have a stochastic-probabilistic nature. Within this framework, a detailed analytical methodological approac…
