Trīs gadus vecu bērnu runas attīstība pirkstu rotaļās
2021
Bakalaura darba tēma: Trīs gadus vecu bērnu runas attīstība pirkstu rotaļās. Viena no aktuālākajām problēmām mūsdienās ir pieaugušā iniciatīvas trūkums saskarsmē ar bērnu. Bērns nesaņem pietiekami daudz uzmanības no pieaugušā. Pieaugušais ikdienas gaitās izvirza citas prioritātes, bieži vien bērnu atstājot novārtā. Tā rezultātā tiek kavēta bērna vispārīgā (tajā skaitā runas) attīstība. Šī problēma var radīt negatīvu iespaidu uz turpmāko socializācijas procesu. Bakalaura darba mērķis ir izpētīt pirkstu rotaļu ietekmi uz trīs gadu vecu bērnu runas attīstību. Bakalaura darba apjoms: Bakalaura darba pirmajā daļā tika veikts teorētisks apraksts par agrīnā vecuma vispārīgo raksturojumu veselumā, …
Income and Physical Activity among Adults: Evidence from Self-Reported and Pedometer-Based Physical Activity Measurements
2015
This study examined the relationship between income and physical activity by using three measures to illustrate daily physical activity: the self-reported physical activity index for leisure-time physical activity, pedometer-based total steps for overall daily physical activity, and pedometer-based aerobic steps that reflect continuous steps for more than 10 min at a time. The study population consisted of 753 adults from Finland (mean age 41.7 years; 64% women) who participated in 2011 in the follow-up of the ongoing Young Finns study. Ordinary least squares models were used to evaluate the associations between income and physical activity. The consistency of the results was explored by us…
Roles of Exogenous Technologies in Vehicle Innovation: Cases from a Japan’s Automotive Parts Manufacturing Firm
2017
This paper explores the roles of technological innovations in the growth of Japan’s motor vehicle industry, mainly from technology spillover perspective from the early 2000s to today. An empirical analysis focusing on business performances, R&D investments, and patent applications taking a noteworthy unique case in Japan was attempted. Empirical analyses on the productivity of patent to technology stock, use of exogenous technologies for their own technological innovation on its Automotive Business Unit elucidated that innovation capabilities, incorporation of exogenous technologies, and profit generation makes a virtuous cycle of continuous technological innovation. Furthermore, we fou…

Evaluation of biogas production and usage potential
2016
The aim of the research is the development of theoretical and methodical bases for determining the feasibility of plant raw materials growing for its further bioconversion into energy resources and tec hnological materials to maximize profit from business activities. Monograph, statistics, modelling and abstract logical methods have been used during the research. Directions of biogas usage have been examined. Biogas yields from different crops have been analyzed. It has been determined that high methane yields can be provided from root crops, grain crops, and several green forage plants. So, forage beet and maize can provide more than 5,500 m3 of biogas per hectare. Attention is paid to the…
Contrasts in fitness, motor competence and physical activity among children involved in single or multiple sports
2021
Abstract Study aim: While there is wide debate around specialization in one sport, there is a lack of information about fitness levels and motor competence of children participating in single or multiple sports. Material and methods: The study involved 358 fifth-grade children who participated in a set of health-related fitness and motor competence tests over two consecutive years. A subsample of children (n = 109) wore an accelerometer for seven consecutive days. The independent samples t-test and ANCOVA were used to compare differences between single and multi-sport participants in study variables and changes between baseline and follow-up. Results: Multi-sport participants performed bett…
Perimenopausal women show modulation of excitatory and inhibitory neuromuscular mechanisms.
2021
Background Menopausal transition exposes women to an early decline in muscle force and motor function. Changes in muscle quality and function, especially in lower limbs, are crucial, as they expose individuals to increased risk of falls. To elucidate some of the related neuromuscular mechanisms, we investigated cortical inhibition and peripheral muscle twitch force potentiation in women during the early and late stages of perimenopause. Methods Participants were 63 women aged 48–55 years categorized as early (EP, n = 25) or late (LP, n = 38) perimenopausal according to serum follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) levels and menstrual diaries. EP women had an irregular menstrual cycle and FSH 2…
Analysis of requirements for valve accuracy and repeatability in high efficiency digital displacement motors
2018
Traditional variable displacement piston machines achieve high efficiency when operating at high displacements, but struggle with poor efficiency at low displacements. The pistons are connected to high pressure and low pressure in conjunction with the output shaft position and the displacement is changed by changing the piston stroke, resulting in almost constant friction, leakage, and compressibility losses independent of displacement. In digital displacement machines, the rotary valve is replaced by two fast switching on/off valves connected to every cylinder. By controlling the fast switching on/off valves, the cylinders can be controlled individually and friction, leakage and compressib…
"Onko lasten kömpelyys ylisuojelevien vanhempien vika?"
2015
TIIVISTELMÄ Niemi, Paula. & Vihersaari, Juuli. 2015. ”Onko lasten kömpelyys ylisuojelevien vanhempien vika?” Liikuntapedagogiikan pro gradu -tutkielma. Liikuntakasvatuksen laitos, Jyväskylän yliopisto, 82s., 2 liitettä. Liikkuminen kehittää motorisia perustaitoja, joita lapset tarvitsevat selvitäkseen jokapäiväi-sessä elämässä ja oppiakseen uusia asioita ympäröivästä maailmasta (Sääkslahti 2005, 13). Motoriset perustaidot ovat ihmisen kaikelle liikkumiselle välttämättömiä taitoja ja taitojen yhdistelmiä (Pangrazi 2001, 298; Gabbard 2004, 285-286; Gallahue ym. 2012, 15). Pro gradu -tutkielmamme tarkoituksena oli selvittää Yleisradion Internet keskustelupalstalle kirjoitta-neiden käsityksiä a…
