Capacity-based calculation of passenger car equivalents using traffic simulation at double-lane roundabouts

Abstract Calculation of passenger car equivalents for heavy vehicles represents the starting point for the operational analysis of road facilities and other traffic management applications. This paper introduces a criterion to find the passenger car equivalents that reflect traffic conditions at double-lane roundabouts, where the capacity is typically estimated for each entry lane. Based on the equivalence defined by the proportion of capacity used by vehicles of different classes, the criterion implies a comparison between the capacity that would occur with a traffic demand of passenger cars only and the capacity reached beginning from a demand with a certain percentage of heavy vehicles. …

The branching broomrape, Phelipanche ramosa L. is an obligate parasitic plant, which in a few years became a major agronomic problem for tobacco crops in France. Two approaches, aiming at controlling broomrape were tested within the framework of the ELIOT project grouping Arvalis, the CT2F cooperative and the INRA center of Dijon. The first relates to sulfonylurea herbicides, including rimsulfuron and sulfosulfuron and a systemic herbicide of the cyclohexanediones family, clethodim. L’artritis gotosa es una de les malalties articulars més freqüents d’artritis inflamatòria. Es produeix per la deposició d’urat monosòdic (MSU) en les articulacions, donant lloc a episodis aguts d’inflamació, que poden ser persistents i arribar a cronificar-se. La fagocitosi dels cristalls d’MSU pels neutròfils i macròfags genera la producció de ROS i l’activació de l’NFkappaB, alliberant citocines i activant l’NLRP3. Aquest inflamasoma indueix l’activació de la caspasa1 i la consegüent producció de les formes actives IL1beta i IL18.
