This paper focuses on the influence of two classical drivers of population agglomeration: geography and history. Geography is identified by two co-ordinates: coastal position and altitude. The prominence of history is also captured by two characteristics: the initial size of the municipalities, and their status as the administrative centre of the area. In first instance we examine localization patterns, at a small geographical scale, according to these characteristics and present empirical evidence of the progressive population concentration along the coast, on the plains and in the regional (provincial) capitals; a process that has not finished in the present days. Abstract Improving the eco-efficiency of municipalities in the provision of municipal solid waste (MSW) services is fundamental in the context of a circular economy. This study evaluates the eco-efficiency of a sample of Spanish municipalities, integrating the total cost as input, recyclable waste as desirable output, and unsorted waste as undesirable output. El Martiri de Sant Bernat, María i Gràcia, propiedad del Museu Municipal d’Alzira (MUMA), es un óleo sobre lienzo de gran formato que históricamente se ha atribuido a Bernardo López o a Salvador Maella y que está datado entre finales del siglo XVIII y principios del XIX. No obstante, existe una serie de características plásticas que no corresponden a estos pintores. La presente investigación tiene como finalidad describir cómo la ciudadanía ha contribuido a la elaboración de un Diagnóstico Territorial de Empleo (DET) promovido por la Generalitat Valenciana, previo al diseño de futuras políticas públicas para el fomento del empleo, en tres municipios alicantinos. Se consiguió a través de una Investigación-Acción-Participación (IAP). The institution of the Real Audiencia in the kingdom of Sardinia since the 1560s is part of a wider process which saw the rise and development of royal supreme courts of justice in several European countries of the early modern period. In fact, major State formation processes all around Europe required that monarchs increased their control on local authorities and that new increasingly centralised systems of judicial review gained precedence over all particular jurisdictions, feudal as well as municipal. This brought about a dramatic transformation in the field of criminal law enforcement and administration of justice.
Przestrzenne zróżnicowanie kosztów funkcjonowania domów pomocy społecznej w Polsce w 2016 roku

Celem artykułu było wykazanie zróżnicowania poziomu kosztów utrzymania mieszkańca w domach pomocy społecznej (DPS) w Polsce w 2016 r. Wartość współczynnika zmienności (12,9%) potwierdziła, że DPS w Polsce różnią się ze względu na poziom kosztów utrzymania ich mieszkańców. Dalsza analiza dotyczyła korelacji pomiędzy kosztami w DPS i zmiennymi opisującymi poziom rozwoju gospodarczego danego regionu. Uzyskane wyniki pozwoliły na stwierdzenie, że wyższemu poziomowi PKB odpowiadały wyższe koszty w DPS. Zestawienie kosztów utrzymania w DPS z poziomem przeciętnych emerytur w poszczególnych województwach wykazało, że osoby starsze nie są w stanie pokryć nawet połowy kosztów pobytu. Oznacza to, że o…
