Tutkielman tarkoituksena on selvittää, kuinka Fight Club romaanissa käsitellään transgressiivistä kaunokirjallisuutta. The paper focuses on the ?unexpected pathways? of successful students with an immigrant background: these biographical routes, that seems socially impossible, raise theoretical issues around the individual-society, actor-structure relationship. This article explores the issues at stakes in defining the narrative caption. As a starting point, it reviews usual definitions which combine a functional component (the caption provides a certain kind of information), a graphic component (that characterizes it as a space) and an enunciative component (the text which conveys the narrator’s voice) are combined. Artikkelissa tarkastelen sitä, kuinka erityislasten vanhempien tieto ja asiantuntemus lasta koskevissa asioissa rakentuu ja kuinka siihen suhtaudutaan auttamistyön tilanteissa. Aineistoni koostuu vanhempien kokemuskertomuksista, joissa he kuvaavat erityislapsen vanhemmuuteen kasvua sekä kohtaamisia ammattilaisten kanssa auttamistyön kentillä. This paper introduces the idea of data-driven narratives to examine how the use of information, communications, and media technologies (ICMTs) impacts the sustainable growth of economies. While ICMTs have regularly been advocated as a policy tool for growth and development, there is a research gap in empirical studies validating how such policies may be effective. This analysis is based on historical panel data from 39 economies across the developed North (19) and developing South (20). [EN] This article re-visits three studies that originally focused on beliefs about second language (L2) learning and teaching held by student teachers. The studies have been conducted in the same educational context (that is, at a Finnish university). The participants in the studies are majors or minors in English, Swedish, German, etc., and they range from first-year students to fifth-year students about to graduate as qualified L2 teachers. Data have been collected by a variety of means over the past few years (questionnaires, sentence-completion tasks, drawings), and partly longitudinally. A Review of Five Studies on Learner Beliefs About Second Language Learning and Teaching : Exploring the Possibilities of Narratives

This article reviews five studies carried out within two projects in Finland on the subjective experiences of second language learning and teaching and the related beliefs held by university students of English or other foreign languages. The studies to be reviewed have been conducted using contextual approaches, and written or visual narratives. The aim is to explore how narratives have been used in doing research on learner beliefs by illustrating some of the units of analysis applied within different theoretical frameworks. In addition to summarizing the studies, the article will discuss the methodological lessons learnt and indicate directions for future research. peerReviewed

Riassunto: La recente pubblicazione in Italia della traduzione de La llegenda del llibreter assassi di Ramon Miquel i Planas offre lo spunto per un confronto con alcune precedenti traduzioni in castigliano e per una breve riflessione di metodo sulla traduzione. Le due versioni spagnole (1991 e 2011) si configurano infatti, a differenza di quella italiana, come libere rielaborazioni dell’originale dal momento che ne alterano la struttura, trasformando il testo e piegandolo a nuove finalita.
