The Bible in the films of Pavel Lungin and Andrei Zvyagintsev
2018
In the Soviet Union, even after perestroika, explicitly biblical films have practically not been produced; nevertheless the Bible, despite acute censorship, has been present in a symbolic way in films directed by Andrei Tarkovsky and Larissa Shepitko. A certain revival of biblical themes is evident in recent works of Russian directors Pavel Lungin (Island, 2006; The Conductor, 2012), and Andrei Zvyagintsev (The Return, 2003; Leviathan, 2014). The paper analyzes the meaning of the Bible in these films: biblical texts are quoted in dialogues, and evoked in the titles and the protagonists’ names; biblical motifs are present in images, in contemporary events, and in the narrative structures. Beyond Borders in the History of Science Education
2015
In this chapter, I explore the interactions between the new history of science education and the research agenda of the group “Science and Technology in the European Periphery” (STEP). While reviewing the contributions made by STEP members to this field, I discuss some missed opportunities and challenges faced by peripheral contexts in mainstream narratives of the history of science education. Many authors have called for cross-national studies and the application of a comparative approach to the history of science education, but studies of this kind are few. They require researchers to use sources written in several languages and to master a wide range of local studies and highly fragmente…

Robert Foulke, The Sea Voyage Narrative, Routledge, New York and London, 1997, pp. 244, ISBN 0-415-93894-5.
The article deals with electoral campaign carried…

Sense of Belonging and Life Transitions for Two Females with Autism Spectrum Disorder in Finland
2015
AbstractSense of belonging refers to the degree to which individuals feel included, accepted, and supported by others in a variety of social settings.
