Este artículo analiza la representación de la femme fatale en Muerte de un ciclista (Juan Antonio Bardem, 1955) como un recurso sintomático de la disidencia de Bardem respecto a la dictadura franquista. Partiendo de una perspectiva interdisciplinar que considera las aportaciones de la teoría semiótica y la teoría fílmica feminista, se aplica una metodología de análisis textual que atiende tanto a la estructura narrativa del film como a los procesos de significación, visuales y sintácticos, asociados a la femme fatale. Identity in virtual communities

The usability of Collaborative Virtual Environments is a function of technical affordances with the implicit and explicit intentions of users. Intentions can be revealed by 'cyborg ethnography' -- a close examination of interactions and conversations conducted in CVE's. Three CVE's were examined ethnographically and it is found that social conventions develop around the theme of producing identity. However, there is doubt that such conventions constitute evidence of a 'virtual' social system.

This paper offers a contrastive analysis of Indian captivity narratives and the Native American boarding-school experience. Indian captivity narratives describe the ordeals of white women and men, kidnapped by Indians, who were separated from their families and subsequently lived months or even years with Indian tribes. The Native American boarding-school experience, which began in the late nineteenth century, took thousands of Indian children from their parents for the purpose of “assimilation to civilization” to be facilitated through governmental schools, thereby creating a captivity of a different sort. Building natural science learning through youth science camps

This study focuses on a youth science camp for pupils in sixth to ninth grades that is organized annually by the University of Jyväskylä, Finland. The main idea of the science camp is to learn to do guided inquiry in nature. The study investigates the significance of science camp for encouraging young participants to learn science and how the camp supports their learning. The research method used was a survey. Altogether, 47 youth participated in the camp in 2012 and 2013.
