Nykykoulussa on edessä muutoksia, kun perusopetuksen uusi opetussuunnitelma otetaan käyttöön vuoden 2016 syksystä eteenpäin. Uusi opetussuunnitelma painottaa eheyttämistä ja monialaisia oppimiskokonaisuuksia enemmän edelliseen opetussuunnitelmaan verrattuna. Tutkimus sai alkunsa kiinnostuksesta uusia Perusopetuksen opetussuunnitelman perusteita kohtaan. Vuonna 2014 hyväksytty POPS asettui erityisesti tieto- ja viestintätekniikan opetuksen osalta vastaamaan perusopetuksessa havaittuihin puutteisiin ja ongelmiin. Tutkimuksen tarkoituksena oli selvittää mitä uusia sisältöjä POPS14 tuo tietotekniikan opetukseen sekä kuinka noiden sisältöjen opetus toteutuu koulujen arjessa. Tutkimuksessa tunnistettiin tyypilliset ja yleisesti käytössä olevat TVT:n opetusmenetelmät ja niitä pyrittiin kuvailemaan laadullisen tutkimuksen keinoin. AbstractIn this chapter, we argue for a new vision for teacher professional learning based on the diverse creativities as practice which catalyzes educational change in whole-school contexts. We argue that it is possible (and preferable) to expand improvements to teacher education and professional development beyond neoliberal notions of “workplace readiness” and toward an environmental, ecological, sustainable education for lives worth living. This article is intended to examine the role of creative education in the design of the national curriculum and the division of lesson hours during the period 2010-2014. During this process, pupils, private citizens and experts from different fields were given the opportunity to submit their contributions to the exercise. Lukion opetussuunnitelman perusteisiin (Opetushallitus, 2015) on sisällytetty Monilukutaidot ja media -aihekokonaisuus, jossa monilukutaito määritellään taitoina tulkita ja tuottaa erilaisia tekstejä. Jokaisen opettajan odotetaan opettavan oman tiedonalansa tekstitaitoja, joiden alakohtaisuus pohjaa tiedonmuodostuksen käytänteisiin. Tällä korostetaan eri oppiaineiden sisältötiedon hallinnan lisäksi myös tekstitaitojen kehittymistä kaikissa oppiaineissa.
