Celem niniejszej publikacji jest określenie stanu relacji polsko-amerykańskich na podstawie częstotliwości i rangi wizyt dyplomatycznych odbywanych między tymi państwami. Relacje te są przedstawiane w sferze zarówno politycznej, jak i naukowej jako fundamentalny element polskiej polityki zagranicznej. Jednocześnie brak niekwestionowanych wymiernych wskaźników pozwalających na ich obiektywną ewaluację. Relacje polsko-amerykańskie zostały w artykule porównane do strategicznego partnerstwa amerykańsko-brytyjskiego. Among many aspects to the question of whether democracy is exportable, this contribution focuses on the role of the people, understood not as a unitary actor but as a heterogeneous set: the citizens. This report presents a summary of the I Symposium of Elite Performance in Combat Sports held in Madrid, May 27, 2017. The symposium, organized by the Faculty of Sport Sciences-INEF of the Polytechnic University of Madrid, aimed to bring science closer to practice. A panel of highly successful athletes involved in karate, fencing, and taekwondo shared their experiences. The speakers presented crucial topics for an optimal preparation and high level performance such as strength training, sport psychology, brain maturation, sports nutrition, competition planning, sport injuries, and perceptual-decision making training.

Italy’s presidency of the G20 defied the odds and resulted in costly commitments by the members on a range of issues: global health, climate change, a minimum global tax, and the crisis in Afghanistan. How can we explain this success? Italy’s prime minister, Mario Draghi, and his extensive prior experience and widespread respect was certainly a factor.
