The development of the Internet has so strongly affected the way a tourist destination can be promoted that portals now play an important role in defining the marketing strategies of tourist destinations. Hence, investigating website surfing behavior has become crucial to understanding the needs of potential tourists. Yleiset kielitutkinnot ovat siirtymässä asteittain digitaaliseen muotoon. Tässä artikkelissa esitellään lyhyesti tätä muutosprosessia sekä kerrotaan maahanmuuttajille järjestetystä digitaalisen koealustan pilotoinnista ja sen tuloksista. Pilotti toteutettiin Lahdessa kotoutumiskoulutukseen osallistuvien maahanmuuttajien kielitaidon testauksella. Heidän kielitaitonsa vaihteli kielten yleiseurooppalaisen viitekehyksen tasojen A1 ja B1 välillä.
