Masteroppgave i økonomi og administrasjon – Universitetet i Agder 2014 This master‟s thesis seeks to investigate whether motivations for business start-up between persons with and without disabilities differ. The motivation for this study is that, disabled entrepreneurs may have unique reasons which need the attention of all stakeholders who advocate for equal human rights. The study uses a unique sample of 273 from Ecuadorian micro-bank. The findings indicate that persons without disabilities are more materialistic than persons with disabilities. Criminal Procedure Law reform carried out in 2015 requires, in order to adopt the investigation proceedings that limit the rights recognized by art. 18 Spanish Constitution, to respect the guiding principles of specialty, suitability, exceptionality, necessity and proportionality. This article aims, departing from the legal text and considering existing jurisprudence, to unveil the true meaning of these principles.

Through an unorthodox reading of Hannah Arendt, this article argues that her political thought contains unacknowledged resources for conceptualizing embodiment in politics, and in relation to the economy, physical needs, and appearance. In contrast to the way she is typically read, this essay develops an affirmative account of embodiment in Arendt's work. Arendt not only recognizes the role of the appearing body in action but also underscores the importance of labor and necessity for a human sense of reality. A well-functioning social network involves attributes such as honesty, benevolence, fairness and confidence. When this network – trust - has formed, participants can count on reliable and consistent economic transactions. This has the effect of higher level of co-operation, but also co-dependence. Strong social networks, as measured in this study by the degree of interpersonal trust and trust in institutions, are foundational elements for societies wishing to progress to new higher levels of entrepreneurship and development.
