On the a posteriori error analysis for linear Fokker-Planck models in convection-dominated diffusion problems

This work is aimed at the derivation of reliable and efficient a posteriori error estimates for convection-dominated diffusion problems motivated by a linear Fokker-Planck problem appearing in computational neuroscience. We obtain computable error bounds of the functional type for the static and time-dependent case and for different boundary conditions (mixed and pure Neumann boundary conditions). Finally, we present a set of various numerical examples including discussions on mesh adaptivity and space-time discretisation. The numerical results confirm the reliability and efficiency of the error estimates derived.

An interest in myths and symbols sooner or later leads one to study the powerful writings of this highly cultivated thinker. Retracing the main common aspects between the anthropological thought and the psychoanalytic one, in this paper we will further discuss about the main common points between the notions of unconscious according to Carl Gustav Jung and Claude Lévi-Strauss, taking into account the Erich Neumann thought. On the basis of very simple elementary logic considerations centered around the basic notion of separation of opposites, what will be said might turn out to be useful for some speculations upon possible origins of the rational thought, hence for the origins of consciousness.

The chief point for air-seeder designers is conception of the pneumatic conveying system. It must be precise in terms of uniformity so that that the agro-technical goals should be achieved. It must also ensure high rates without causing damages to seeds. This paper provides a theoretical analysis of pneumatic conveying designing applied to air-seeders.
