There is evidence of significant progress in integrating ICT into career services and related practices; however, the potential for further improvement persists. Artikkelini tarkastelee neuvomista opinnäytteen ohjauksessa. Lähden liikkeelle dilemmasta: useissa ohjauksen käytännöissä esiintyy runsaasti ammattilaisen antamia neuvoja, vaikka ohjausmääritelmissä neuvomista kehotettaisiin välttämään. Pyrin selvittämään, miksi näin on. Tarkastelen ohjauksen ja neuvomisen välistä suhdetta kokoamalla neuvoja koskevia institutionaalisen vuorovaikutuksen tutkimustuloksia erilaisissa ohjauksellisissa konteksteissa. Esitän tutkimustulosten yhteenvedon avulla kokonaisnäkemyksen siitä, mitä tehtäviä neuvot erilaisissa ohjauksellisissa tilanteissa toimittavat. Social media is regularly in the ‘news’ for good and for not so good reasons. In career development social media can be used by organisations to further develop a common understanding with clients.
