The management of sludge produced by urban wastewater treatment plants has long been a problem for plant managers. This is due both to the growing costs for their disposal, and to the possible consequences that incorrect management may have on the performance of the wastewater treatment plant and on the environment. Words, Trees and Automata Minimization

In this paper we explore some connections between some combinatorial properties of words and the study of extremal cases of the automata minimization process. An intermediate role is played by the notion od word trees for which some properties of words are generalized. In particular, we describe an infinite family of binary automata, called word automata and constructed by using standard sturmian words and more specifically Fibonacci words, that represent the extremal case of some well known automata minimization algorithms, such as Moore’s and Hopcroft’s methods. Epichristoffel Words and Minimization of Moore Automata

This paper is focused on the connection between the combinatorics of words and minimization of automata. The three main ingredients are the epichristoffel words, Moore automata and a variant of Hopcroft’s algorithm for their minimization. Epichristoffel words defined in [14] generalize some properties of circular sturmian words. Here we prove a factorization property and the existence of the reduction tree, that uniquely identifies the structure of the word. Characterization of interior permanent magnet synchronous motors for loss model algorithm identification

The paper provides the results of a detailed experimental study on the variations of the characteristics of an interior permanent magnet synchronous motor, when load, speed and/or magnetization conditions vary. In particular, the characterization is carried out by assessing, for several working conditions, the motor parameters that influence its efficiency. From the knowledge of the variability of these parameters, it is possible to develop a dynamic model of the motor, which accurately describes its behaviour and allows estimating the power losses for whatever speed and load. Comparison of three control drive systems for interior permanent magnet synchronous motors

In a previous paper, we proposed a control strategy for interior permanent synchronous motors, which takes into account also the reduction of the motor power losses. The novelty of the suggested approach is that it takes into consideration the variations of all the motor parameters that have an influence on its efficiency. In order to verifyon the field the effectiveness of this new method, we implemented the proposed loss model algorithm in a control drive system and compared its performances, in terms of energy losses with respect to other conventional techniques.
Efficient tree construction for the multicast problem

A new heuristic for the Steiner minimal tree problem is presented. The method described is based on the detection of particular sets of nodes in networks, the "hot spot" sets, which are used to obtain better approximations of the optimal solutions. An algorithm is also proposed which is capable of improving the solutions obtained by classical heuristics, by means of a stirring process of the nodes in solution trees. Classical heuristics and an enumerative method are used as comparison terms in the experimental analysis which demonstrates the capability of the heuristic discussed.

Si analizza il concetto di documento valido come prova nel processo e le peculiarità rispetto alla prova orale (art. 234), i documenti che costituiscono corpo di reato (art. 235), quelli relativi al giudizio sulla personalità (art. 236); l'acquisizione dei documenti provenienti dall'imputato. Specifica attenzione è rivolta ai controversi istituti dei verbali di prove di altri procedimenti (art. 238) e delle sentenze irrevocabili. Infine l'analisi concerne l'acquisizione e l'utilizzazione dei documenti anonimi e dei documenti falsi, con un taglio sia sistematico sia applicativo, alla luce delle evoluzioni della giurisprudenza.
