Electromagnetic wave propagation in non-homogeneous waveguides

We investigate an electromagnetic waveguide, having several cylindrical ends. The waveguide is assumed to be empty and to have a perfectly conductive boundary. We study the electromagnetic field, excited in the waveguide in the presence of charges and currents. The field can be described as a solution of the stationary Maxwell system with conductive boundary conditions and “intrinsic” radiation conditions at infinity. We prove the problem to be well-posed. Electromagnetic waves propagation in the waveguide can be described by means of a scattering matrix. Magnētiska piliena līdzsvara figūru skaitlisks aprēķins augstfrekvences rotējošā magnētiskā laukā

Darbā tiek apskatīts, kā atrast magnētiska piliena līdzsvara figūras gan konstantā magnētiskā laukā, gan augstfrekvences rotējošā magnētiskā laukā izmantojot enerģijas minimizēšanu. Izmantojot demagnetizācijas koeficientu sakarības trīsasu elipsoīdam tiek iegūta izteiksme piliena enerģijai magnētiskā laukā. Līdzsvara figūru atkarība no magnētiskā lauka un magnētiskā piliena parametriem (magnētiskais Bonda skaitlis, piliena magnētiskā uzņēmība) tiek aprēķināta veicot enerģijas minimizāciju. Apskatīta magnētiska piliena līdzsvara figūru stabilitāte augstfrekvences rotējošā magnētiskā laukā. Tiek salīdzināti iegūtie rezultāti ar citiem darbiem (eksperimentiem un skaitliskām simulācijām).

Enterovirus B group (EV-B) viruses are important human pathogens which cause a variety of diseases from mild respiratory illnesses to more severe acute infections such as myocarditis and meningitis. EV-Bs have also been associated with chronic infections and autoimmune diseases such as type I diabetes. Because of their significance, better and more accurate methods are necessary to track and visualize viruses in vitro and in vivo. This thesis focus on the development of novel probes to label viruses site-specifically and track infection in vitro. An analysis of the names derived from appellatives, allows for a reconstruction of the categorization methods of the world, anthropological conceptualization, and a popular image of reality.
