$C^{1,��}$ regularity for the normalized $p$-Poisson problem

We consider the normalized $p$-Poisson problem $$-��^N_p u=f \qquad \text{in}\quad ��.$$ The normalized $p$-Laplacian $��_p^{N}u:=|D u|^{2-p}��_p u$ is in non-divergence form and arises for example from stochastic games. We prove $C^{1,��}_{loc}$ regularity with nearly optimal $��$ for viscosity solutions of this problem. In the case $f\in L^{\infty}\cap C$ and $p>1$ we use methods both from viscosity and weak theory, whereas in the case $f\in L^q\cap C$, $q>\max(n,\frac p2,2)$, and $p>2$ we rely on the tools of nonlinear potential theory.

DFHRS-based computation of quasi-geoid of Latvia

In geodesy, civil engineering and related fields high accuracy coordinate determination is needed, for that reason GNSS technologies plays important role. Transformation from GNSS derived ellipsoidal heights to orthometric or normal heights requires a high accuracy geoid or quasi-geoid model, respectively the accuracy of the currently used Latvian gravimetric quasi-geoid model LV'98 is 6–8 cm. TALPID3 controls centrosome and cell polarity and the human ortholog KIAA0586 is mutated in Joubert syndrome (JBTS23)

Joubert syndrome (JBTS) is a severe recessive neurodevelopmental ciliopathy which can affect several organ systems. Mutations in known JBTS genes account for approximately half of the cases. By homozygosity mapping and whole-exome sequencing, we identified a novel locus, JBTS23, with a homozygous splice site mutation in KIAA0586 (alias TALPID3), a known lethal ciliopathy locus in model organisms. Truncating KIAA0586 mutations were identified in two additional patients with JBTS. Amino Acid Chemistry in Solution:  Structural Study and Vibrational Dynamics of Glutamine in Solution. An ab Initio Reaction Field Model

The self-consistent reaction field (SCRF) theory was used to study structural and vibrational features of the amino acid L-glutamine in solution. Raman and infrared spectra of this molecule in solutions of H 2O and D2O were recorded and measured. The bands were firstly assigned on the basis of the isotopic shifts. An ab initio quadratic force field at the 6-31 +G* level was achieved. The calculation simulated a polar solvent by placing the molecule in an ellipsoidal cavity surrounded by a continuum dielectric. A structural and vibrational study of amino acid serine in aqueous solution has been carried out using Fourier transform spectroscopies and quantum mechanical calculations. FT-IR and FT-Raman spectra of serine in H2O and D2O solutions were recorded and a general assignment of the observed bands was proposed on the basis of a zwitterionic structure for serine. Main criteria were the observed wavenumber shifts upon deuteration and previous assignments for other amino acids. We present a compendium of numerical simulation techniques, based on tensor network methods, aiming to address problems of many-body quantum mechanics on a classical computer. An experimental study of γγ → hadrons at LEP

An analysis of γγ interactions has been performed using untagged hadronic data obtained by the ALEPH detector at LEP. The data show at low transverse momentum (pt) are well reproduced by a model based on the vector meson dominance mechinism (VDM). At high pt thrust the presence of hard scattering processes is demonstrated. This component is well described in shape and normalization by a QCD calculation.

One-loop renormalization of Resonance Chiral Theory: scalar and pseudoscalar resonances

We consider the Resonance Chiral Theory with one multiplet of scalar and pseudoscalar resonances, up to bilinear couplings in the resonance fields, and evaluate its beta-function at one-loop with the use of the background field method. Thus we also provide the full set of operators that renormalize the theory at one loop and render it finite.
