Gastrointestinal stromal tumors (GISTs): Focus on histopathological diagnosis and biomolecular features
2007
Gastrointestinal stromal tumors (GISTs) are mesenchymal tumors of the gastrointestinal tract that are believed to originate from a neoplastic transformation of the intestinal pacemaker cells (interstitial cells of Cajal) normally found in the bowel wall or their precursors. Although the microscopic features have been known for a long time, the defining characteristic of GIST is the presence of the cell-surface antigen CD117 (KIT), which is demonstrated by immunohistochemistry. KIT, which is a growth factor transmembrane receptor, is the product of the proto-oncogene c-kit (chromosome 4). Surgical removal remains the only curative treatment for patients with GISTs. Tumor size, mitotic index,…

Jāņa Ezeriņa personības un daiļrades iepazīšana 11.klasē
2019
Darbs sastāv no 4 daļām. Tās ir Jāņa Ezeriņa personība un daiļrade vidusskolas mācību kontekstā, gatavošanās darbam mācību stundās, kas sastāv no trīs apakštematiem ( klases raksturojums, mācību metožu izvēle un pamatojums, stundu cikla tematiskais plānojums), mācību stundu norise, pašizvērtējums un analīze. Atslēgas vārdi šim bakalaura darbam ir Jānis Ezeriņš, karnevālisms, anekdotisms, novele, stāsts, īspr…

Consumers perception of food safety related risk in the italian market
2019
The aim of this paper is to define the factors affecting the consumers' perception on food risk associated to the consumption of products (i) containing food additives, (ii) obtained with the use of pesticides, and (iii) processed through novel food technologies, in relation to different socio-economic and demographic characteristics, the source of acquisition of information on food safety issues, and the place of purchase of food. The study is based on a sample of 392 consumers, living in Italy, and it uses three ordered probit estimation models to process data collected. Findings show that food risk perception is greater among youngsters, mainly for the additives and residual pesticides i…
Philippe Vilain, l'amour en ses discours
2022

Stimulus-induced gamma activity in the electrocorticogram of freely moving rats: the neuronal signature of novelty detection.
2009
To investigate the cortical activity pattern associated with the exploration and identification of a novel object we recorded the intracranial electrocorticogram (ECoG) in the barrel cortex of freely moving adult rats using wireless technology. We report here that the exploration and detection of a novel object correlate with a transient increase of synchronized oscillatory activity in the 40–47 Hz frequency band. This specific cortical activity pattern occurs 200–300 ms after the first sensory contact with the novel stimulus and decreases in power in the subsequent recording sessions with the same object. During the first explorative session the increase in 40–47 Hz is associated with a si…
Searches for the decaysB0→l±τ∓andB+→l+ν(l=e,μ) using hadronic tag reconstruction
2008
We present searches for the leptonic decays B{sup +} {yields} {ell}{sup +}{nu} and the lepton flavor violating decays B{sup 0} {yields} {ell}{sup {+-}}{tau}{sup {-+}}, where {ell} = e, {mu}, with data collected by the BABAR experiment at SLAC. This search demonstrates a novel technique in which we fully reconstruct the accompanying {bar B} in {Upsilon}(4S) {yields} B{bar B} events, and look for a monoenergetic lepton from the signal B decay. The signal yield is extracted from a fit to the signal lepton candidate momentum distribution in the signal B rest frame. Using a data sample of approximately 378 million B{bar B} pairs (342 fb{sup -1}), we find no evidence of signal in any of the decay…
