The JUROGAM 3 spectrometer
2020
AbstractThe jurogam 3 spectrometer has been constructed for in-beam $$\gamma $$γ-ray spectroscopy experiments in the Accelerator Laboratory of the University of Jyväskylä, Finland. jurogam 3 consists of germanium-detector modules in a compact geometry surrounding a target to measure $$\gamma $$γ rays emitted from radioactive nuclei. jurogam 3 can be employed in conjunction with one of two recoil separators, the mara vacuum-mode separator or the ritu gas-filled separator, and other ancillary devices.
Search for forbidden?-decays of the drip line nucleus12Be
1994
Beta-coincidentγ-rays have been measured from implanted pure samples of12Be separated at the LISE3 spectrometer at GANIL. An intensity of 0.040(26) % can be estimated for the branching ratio of the isospin forbidden pure-Fermi transition to the 0+ excited state of12B and of 0.008(6)% of the transition to the 1−1 excited state. Both are taken to represent upper limits. The half-life has been re-measured to be 26.1(2.4) ms.
New gas-filled mode of the large-acceptance spectrometer VAMOS
2010
A new gas-filled operation mode of the large-acceptance spectrometer VAMOS at GANIL is reported. A beam rejection factor greater than 10(10) is obtained for the Ca-40+Sm-150 system at 196 MeV. The unprecedented transmission efficiency for the evaporation residues produced in this reaction is estimated to be around 80% for alpha x n channels and above 95% for x ny p channels. A detailed study of the performance of the gas-filled VAMOS and future developments are discussed. This new operation mode opens avenues to explore the potential of fusion reactions in various kinematics. (C) 2010 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
New transitions in the $\beta$-decay of $^{36}$Ca
2001
The β-decay of the Tz = - 2 nucleus 36Ca was studied at the LISE3 magnetic spectrometer at GANIL. Two new proton-emitting states have been detected and the other nine known βp and βγ transitions have been remeasured with improved resolution. A simulation with the GEANT code has been applied to this experimental setup. A comparison with shell model calculations is given.
In-beam study of 253No using the SAGE spectrometer
2017
The heavy actinide nucleus 253No (Z = 102) was studied using the (S)ilicon (A)nd (Ge)rmanium (SAGE) spectrometer allowing simultaneous in-beam $\gamma$ -ray and conversion electron spectroscopy at the accelerator laboratory of the University of Jyvaskyla. Using the recoil-tagging technique, $\gamma$ -electron coincidences have allowed for the extension of the level scheme in the lower-spin region of the yrast band. In addition, internal conversion coefficient (ICC) measurements to establish the multipolarity of transitions have been performed. Measurement of the interband-intraband branching ratios supports the assignment of the Nilsson band-head configuration $9/2^{-}[734]$ assigned in pre…
Zum ?-Spektrum von Po214 (RaC?)
1966
Theγ-ray spectrum arising from Bi214→Po214 β-decay was investigated by means of a three-crystal-pair-spectrometer. In addition to many already known energies and intensities several new lines have been found, partly improved values for relative intensities are given. These results have been achieved by programming a computer to reproduce the obtained data in a trial and error procedure.
High spin states of120Ba
1991
The very neutron deficient nucleus120Ba has been investigated in a high-spin γ-spectroscopic study. The yrast band of120Ba is extended up to spin 22ħ and one tentatively assigned negative-parity side band is observed up to spin 15ħ. The experimental results are compared with Total Routhian Surface calculations.
Electromagnetic properties of low-spin states in102, 104Pd
1986
Electromagnetic transitions from low-lying 0+, 2+, 4+ and 3− states in102, 104Pd have been studied using (p, 2n) and (p, p′) reactions and Coulomb excitation. TheE2 transition probabilities from the 0 3 + state in102Pd (13 W.u.) and from the 02/+ state in104Pd (14 W.u.) are somewhat low for two-phonon states. Generally, theE2 transition rates are reasonably well reproduced by the IBA-2 and by the boson-expansion description. The intruding 0 2 + state (t1/2=14.3 ns) in102Pd is connected to the 22/+ and 2 3 + states via strong E2 transitions: B(E2; 0 2 + → 2 2 + )=96±40 W.u.; B(E2; 2 3 + → 0 2 + =17±11 W.u.
High spin band structures in104Cd
1995
High spin states in Cd-104 have been investigated by means of heavy ion induced reactions using the Nordball detector array. The level scheme constructed from yy-coincidences is dominated by three ...
High-spin states in110Cd
1990
Levels of110Cd have been investigated via the96Zr(18O,4n)110Cd reaction by employing the NORD-BALL array of 17 Compton- suppressed Ge detectors. The yrast band has been observed up to I=28 ħ and 14.2 MeV excitation energy with band crossing at ħωc=0.35 MeV. At least three side bands have been constructed. The negative parity bands experience band crossings at ħωc ≈ 0.45 MeV.
