The neutron binding energy in the neutron-rich nucleus93Sr

1980

The neutron binding energy in93Sr has been determined to (5230±6) keV from energy correspondences between levels defined by γ-ray transitions and β-delayed neutron emission.

Evidence for intruder states in111Rh

1990

Levels in111Rh have been investigated via the γ -rays following the β−-decay of 2.1 s111Ru. The Ru activity was produced in the fission of249Cf and separated chemically from the fission product mixture. The emitted γ-rays were studied by γ singles and γ(t) coincidence measurements. Evidence for intruder states in111Rh has been obtained. Their properties are discussed and compared with those in the lighter Rh isotopes.

First observations of Pontecorvo reactions with a recoiling neutron

1995

We report the first observations of Pontecorvo reactions of the type ¯pd →Xn. We fully reconstruct the outgoing meson and, for antiprotons stopped in liquid deuterium, we measure: BR(¯pd→π0)=(7.03±0.72)×10−6, BR(¯pd→ηn)=(3.19+0.48)×10−6, BR(¯pd→ωn)=(22.8+4.1)×10−6, BR(¯pd→η′n)14×10−6 (at 95% confidence level). Assuming charge independence, our result for¯ pd→π0n is compatible with measurements of the only other observed Pontecorvo reaction ¯pd → π−p. The experimental ratios between the above branching ratios are in fair agreement with both the statistical model and dynamical two-step models (assumingN¯ N annihilation into two mesons, with subsequent absorption of one meson on the remaining …

Deuteron electrodisintegration near threshold with the Bonn potential

1987

Deuteron electrodisintegration near threshold is calculated for the Bonn potential including consistent meson exchange currents. Experimental data can fairly well be described over the whole q-range if GE is used as electromagnetic form factor for the exchange current, whereas F1 leads to a large overestimation at high q.

Pion exchange current effects inv ? +d??? +p+p

1986

The differential cross sectiondσ/dq2 for the processvμ+d→μ−+p+p is studied using realistic deuteron wave functions and closure over the dinucleon states. The effect of meson exchange currents is estimated using one-pion exchange diagrams in the static limit. Implications of our present results on the determination ofFA(q2) from neutrinodeuteron reaction experiments are discussed.

3,3 resonance and Nucleon pole model forpp→ppπ0 andpp→pnπ+

1974

The Nucleon pole and 3,3 resonance pole contributions are considered for the reactionspp→ppπ0 andpp→pnπ+ at low and medium incident proton energies. The total and various differential cross sections are calculated, also for polarized nucleons, and compared with experimental data.

Perturbative analysis of the 2νββ decays of 100Mo and 116Cd

2003

We have performed a theoretical analysis of the ground-state-to-ground-state transitions in 100Mo and 116Cd, based on the quasiparticle random-phase approximation and on a straightforward perturbative scheme. The results show that the single-state dominance found in the realistic calculations of the nuclear matrix elements, which is consistent with data, can be viewed as a result of the interference between few two-quasiparticle configurations.

In-beam studies of203, 205Bi and shell-model features of odd-a bismuth isotopes

1982

States in203, 205Bi are populated using the reaction203, 205Tl(3He,3n). Theπi13/2 single-proton states and all the members of thev(21+)⊗π h9/2 quintuplet are identified in both nuclei. The half-lives of the isomericJπ=21/2+ states in both isotopes are measured and found to be 90±7 ns and 100±6 ns, and from these values suggestions for the half-lives of the previously reportedJπ=25/2+ isomers are made. The structures of the multiplets of the formv(Pb)⊗π h9/2 are calculated in the framework of the shell model and it is shown that the main features can be derived from theπ−v−1 effective interaction. The wave functions of the 41+ and 40+ states in202, 204pb are deduced indirectly from the calcu…

Structure of the neutron-rich nucleus 37 94 rb57

1989

A level scheme has been established for 37 94 Rb57 based on studies at the fission-product separator JOSEF ofγγ coincidences following theβ- decay of94Kr. For the 190.7 keV level a half-life of 2.5(8) ns has been determined through the centroid-shift method. The majorβ-decay branch of94Kr proceeds with log ft=3.7 into the 988.4 keV state in94Rb. This transition must be of the 0+→1+ GT type involving the transitionνg7/2→πg9/2. IBFFM calculations have been performed for94Rb, starting from the parametrization used in the previous IBM investigations for the isotope93Rb and the isotone96Y. A theoretical interpretation of the low-lying levels including propositions for the spins is given in a com…
