Latvijā māsu trūkums ir nopietna problēma. Pēc Māsu Asociācijas statistikas datiem, Latvijā no 18 700 māsām strādā tikai 8750 , kas nozīmē, ka visa darba slodze tiek sadalīta starp strādājošo māsu skaitu, kas izraisa pārslodzi māsu vidū. Pēc definīcijas, anestēzijas un intensīvās aprūpes māsām ir jāspēj veikt pacientu aprūpi pirms un pēc operācijas, sekot pacienta stāvoklim, spēt reaģēt akūtās situācijās un sniegt pirmo neatliekamo palīdzību un papildus māsas pamatspecialitātes pienākumi , kuru dēļ var būt pārslodze un kognitīvo spēju samazināšanās, kā arī izveidoties izdegšanas sindroms.

Computerized clinical guidelines are frequently used to translate research into evidence-based behavioral practices and to improve patient outcomes. The purpose of this integrative review is to summarize the factors influencing nurses’ use of computerized clinical guidelines and the effects of nurses’ use of computerized clinical guidelines on patient safety improvements in hospitals. The Embase, Medline Complete, and Cochrane databases were searched for relevant literature published from 2000 to January 2013. Objective. To analyze medication errors (MEs) in a multidisciplinary system with a Computerized Pharmacotherapy Process (CPP) in cancer patients. Design. In order to quantify gaps in the provision of medical nutrition care in Germany and pinpoint specific areas of need, we collected data from patients, nurses and physicians. The results from the patient survey were published separately. A total of 506 participants from 69 certified centers answered the questions developed in cooperation with representatives from different professional groups (physicians, nurses and dietitians). Only about a third of participants reported that their institution provides structured pathways to nutritional counseling. 70.1% of those physicians reported that there was a specialist in nutrition available at their center while only 55.8% of nurses agreed. The aim is to describe Finnish public health nurses’ concerns during regular health check-ups of preschool-aged children. In 2011, focus-group interviews were conducted with 12 public health nurses. The data were analysed using inductive content analysis. Public health nurses’ concerns dealt with the healthy growth and development of children and their ability to cope with difficult family situations, as well as the everyday reality of parenting.
