Purpose: To evaluate the clinical value of four objective colposcopic criteria inner border, ridge sign, cuffed crypt openings and rag sign to diagnose cervical intraepithelial neoplasia grade 2 or worse (CIN 2+), using video exoscopy and to compare it to subjective graduating signs. Methods: Retrospective evaluation of video recordings of 444 patients, referred for diagnostic colposcopy, who underwent cervical biopsies, and if indicated loop excisions. Multi-sensor Fusion through Adaptive Bayesian Networks

Common sensory devices for measuring environmental data are typically heterogeneous, and present strict energy constraints; moreover, they are likely affected by noise, and their behavior may vary across time. Bayesian Networks constitute a suitable tool for pre-processing such data before performing more refined artificial reasoning; the approach proposed here aims at obtaining the best trade-off between performance and cost, by adapting the operating mode of the underlying sensory devices. Moreover, self-configuration of the nodes providing the evidence to the Bayesian network is carried out by means of an on-line multi-objective optimization.

A new approach to portfolio selection based on forecasting

In this paper we analyze the portfolio selection problem from a novel perspective based on the analysis and prediction of the time series corresponding to the portfolio’s value. Namely, we define the value of a particular portfolio at the time of its acquisition. Using the time series of historical prices of the different financial assets, we calculate backward the value that said portfolio would have had in past time periods. A damped trend model is then used to analyze this time series and to predict the future values of the portfolio, providing estimates of the mean and variance for different forecasting horizons. Purpose – This research aims to investigate whether emotions can be considered as a suitable variable to segment visitors at a museum. Furthermore, it seeks to analyse whether emotions influence visitor satisfaction and whether this depends on objective variables (such as age, gender and level of education) or not. Design/methodology/approach – A structured questionnaire was developed and data were collected at the National Museum of Archaeology “G.A. Sanna” in Sardinia (Italy) via 410 face-to-face interviews. Sleep Apnea, Sleepiness, and Driving Risk

Obstructive sleep apnea is associated with excessive daytime sleepiness in about 50% of cases, and with increased risk of driving accidents. Treatment with continuous positive airway pressure effectively decreases such risk, but compliance with continuous positive airway pressure treatment is often suboptimal. According to the European Union Directive on driving risk, retention of a driving license in patients with obstructive sleep apnea requires assessment of sleepiness and adherence to continuous positive airway pressure treatment, but there remains uncertainty on the optimal methods to assess sleepiness on a large scale.

This article analyzes the reception of the classical world in the Spanish nobiliary culture at the end of the 18th century. Our objective is materialized through the study of the Greco-Roman books present in the unpublished catalog of the library of José Álvarez de Toledo, 11th Marqués de villafranca. From the examination of the authors and the different editions conserved by the aristocrat, the work tries to examine the influence of the classical world and its actuality in the development of the most advanced nobiliary culture of eighteenth- century Spain.
