The promise of good energy and spatial resolution coupled with high efficiency and room temperature operation has fuelled a large international effort to develop cadmium zinc telluride (CZT) for hard X-ray applications. We are involved on the development of a hard X-ray telescope based on multilayer optics and focal plane detector operative in the 10-80 keV energy range. The effects of antimicrobial sprays and mouthrinses on supragingival plaque regrowth: a comparative study.

BACKGROUND: Due to the side effects of chlorhexidine digluconate (CHX) mouthrinsing, a spray has been proposed as an alternative method of CHX delivery to the oral cavity. The aim of this study was to investigate the plaque inhibitory effects of CHX, cetylpyridinium chloride (CPC), and triclosan (TRN) delivered by sprays and mouthrinses. METHODS: The study was an observer-masked, randomized cross-over design balanced for carryover effects, involving 15 healthy volunteers in a 4-day plaque regrowth model. Indexing the Local, State and Global in the Contemporary Linguistic Landscape of a Hungarian town in Slovakia

On the basis of photography and fieldwork, the linguistic landscape (LL) of the central square of Dunajská Streda/ Dunaszerdahely is analyzed. I focus on commercial names, which dominate the LL of the main square. The research site, a town in Slovakia of which population 80 % is Hungarian speaking, is significant, since historical minorities form the majority in very few European towns. The characteristics, functions and meanings of a linguistic landscape are best charted through a combination of methods. In particolare, lo statistico (applicato) usa e crea statistiche in funzione di obiettivi conoscitivi e operativi e, a parte l’estensione evidente delle conoscenze e degli ambiti operativi di un fenomeno come quello turistico, allo stato attuale, il contributo più urgente sul piano operativo sembra essere quello di evidenziare, ai gestori del settore, l’assenza di un adeguato livello statistico dell’informazione, nonché le distorsioni interpretative più evidenti nell’utilizzo delle statistiche esistenti.
