Material and methods 300 children who are 14-16 years old with completely erupted 2nd permanent molars upto occlusal table were recruited and the pattern of molar terminal plane was recorded in the proforma. A gummy smile is one of the most problematic characteristics in patients with a Class II Division 2 malocclusion, and the correction of vertical position and incisor torque is often challenging for the orthodontist. This case report describes the orthodontic treatment of a 31-year-old woman, assisted by miniscrew mechanics for maxillary arch distalization and correction of a gummy smile with a brachyfacial pattern. PURPOSE: The present investigation aimed at examining changes in muscle metabolism caused by treatment of arterial occlusive disease, using dynamic 31-phosphorus methods. METHOD: 32 patients with arterial occlusive disease were examined in a 1.5 T apparatus with a 6 cm surface coil before and after treatment. The metabolic changes in the quadriceps muscles were visualised during a 36 s phosphorus spectrum during rest, exercise (isometric and isotonic) and during a period of recovery. Knitted and woven Dacron grafts commercially coated with bovine collagen, gelatin and human albumin were implanted end-to-side between the infrarenal aorta and the bifurcation in 35 growing pigs. Grafts were explanted after 4, 8 and 12 weeks and compared to 6 uncoated knitted prostheses preclotted with blood that served as a control. Uncoated grafts rapidly developed a firmly attached neointima lined with endothelium. Compared with coated grafts the thrombus-free area of uncoated grafts was significantly larger (P less than 0.05).
