Nowadays, sludge dewatering is one of the greatest operational cost to wastewater treatment cycle. Specifically, 1t of fresh sludge to be disposed is composed, on average, by 0.25 - 0.30t of suspended solids, with an average cost for treatment and disposal around 280 - 470 €/t of suspended solids. In this paper, a solution for estimating the relative position and orientation between two ships in six degrees-of-freedom (6DOF) using sensor fusion and an extended Kalman filter (EKF) approach is presented. Two different sensor types, based on time-of-flight and inertial measurement principles, were combined to create a reliable and redundant estimate of the relative motion between the ships. AbstractThe purpose of this work is to establish the optimal experimental conditions for the removal of methylene blue (MB-as model basic dye) from aqueous solution by adsorption onto four agro-based materials, namely, cedar sawdust, pine sawdust, wheat straw, and Provence cane Arundo donax. Results show that an increase in acidity or ionic strength of the medium has generally a negative effect on the discoloration yield. From the data of pH effect, there is no need to change the initial pH of the MB solution to be treated. A systematic review of recently published studies indicates that the effects of laser therapy are commonly assessed using only imperfect methods in terms of measurement error.
