Šī darba izstrādes gaitā autors ir veicis pētījumu par angļu literatūras klasiķa Džordža Orvela romāna „1984” ietekmi uz populārā mūsdienu japāņu autora Haruki Murakami sarakstīto romānu „1Q84”. Darbā tiek izmantotas salīdzināšanas un analīzes metodes, ar kuru palīdzību tiek tuvāk pētīti galvenie motīvi, kas parādās abos literārajos darbos. Mūsdienās sabiedrība pievērš arvien lielāku uzmanību tādām tēmām kā propaganda un dažādas valsts vadīšanas sistēmas, tāpēc šie abu autoru romāni ir kļuvuši ļoti aktuāli un tajos ir negaidītas analoģijas ar mūsdienu pasaulē notiekošo. Ķermeņa tematizācija ekspresionistiskā stila vizuālajā mākslā

Šis bakalaura darbs tiek koncentrēts galvenokārt uz neverbālo komunikāciju pirmajās ekspresionistiskā stila šausmu filmās, tas ir, Doktora Kaligari kabinets, Nosferatu: šausmu simfonija, Golems un kā viņš pasaulē nācis un Frankenšteins. Darbā tiek analizēti 3 kopēji faktori – galveno varoņu ķermenis un izvirzīts kas tajā ir ekspresionistisks, ķermeņa valoda kopā ar mīmiku un vairāki baiļu tipi šajās noteiktajās filmās. Šī bakalaura darba mērķis ir noteikt to vai neverbālā komunikācija ir tikpat veiksmīga filmās kā verbālā komunikācija, tādēļ darbam tika izvēlētas 3 klusās filmas un 1, tā paša laika, bet jau modernāka, filma ar balss pārraidi. Bakalaura darba mērķis ir izpētīt sentiendi leksikas semantiku un izvērtēt tās funkcijas Ovidija poēmā „Ars amatoria”. Mērķa sasniegšanai tiek apzinātas mūsdienu pētnieku atziņas par Ovidija poēmu „Ars amatoria”, tās raksturiezīmes, kā arī teorētisks materiāls par semantiku un semantisko lauku. Bakalaura darba vajadzībām konstruēts sentiendi leksiski semantiskais lauks. Ņemot to vērā, tiek atlasītas un grupētas leksēmas tematiskajās grupās jeb piecās maņās. Measurement of the 238U(n, γ) cross section up to 80 keV with the Total Absorption Calorimeter at the CERN n_TOF facility

The radiative capture cross section of a highly pure (99.999%), 6.125(2) grams and 9.56(5)×10^−4 atoms/barn areal density 238U sample has been measured with the Total Absorption Calorimeter (TAC) in the 185 m flight path at the CERN neutron time-of-flight facility n_TOF. This measurement is in response to the NEA High Priority Request list, which demands an accuracy in this cross section of less than 3% below 25 keV. These data have undergone careful background subtraction, with special care being given to the background originating from neutrons scattered by the 238U sample. The spent fuel of current nuclear reactors contains fissile plutonium isotopes that can be combined with uranium to make mixed oxide (MOX) fuel. In this way the Pu from spent fuel is used in a new reactor cycle, contributing to the long-term sustainability of nuclear energy. However, an extensive use of MOX fuels, in particular in fast reactors, requires more accurate capture and fission cross sections for some Pu isotopes. In the case of 242Pu there are sizable discrepancies among the existing capture cross-section measurements included in the evaluations (all from the 1970s) resulting in an uncertainty as high as 35% in the fast energy region. Izrael a Palestyńczycy. Wojna i okupacja jako rozwiązanie?

Celem artykułu jest szkic analizy konfliktu izraelsko-palestyńskiego, zwłaszcza w kontekście sposobu radzenia sobie przez państwo żydowskie z palestyńskim ruchem narodowowyzwoleńczym. W pierwszej części zwrócono uwagę na specyficzne okoliczności powstania Izraela – państwo to miejscowa ludność arabska uznała za ostatni europejski projekt kolonialny. Następnie opisano tak zwaną matrycę kontroli nad Palestyńczykami, którą zaprezentował antropolog i aktywista pokojowy Jeff Halper. W ostatniej części skupiono się na Operacji Ochronny Brzeg i jej ofiarach, głównie palestyńskich cywilach. Artykuł kończy się wskazaniem dwóch generalnych kierunków, w których może ewoluować opisywany konflikt.

ALICE (A Large Ion Collider Experiment) is studying the physics of strongly interacting matter, and in particular the properties of the Quark–Gluon Plasma (QGP), using proton–proton, proton–nucleus and nucleus–nucleus collisions at the CERN LHC (Large Hadron Collider). The ALICE Collaboration is preparing a major upgrade of the experimental apparatus, planned for installation in the second long LHC shutdown in the years 2018–2019. Measurement of the p(e,e′π+)n reaction close to threshold and at low Q2

The cross section of the $p(e,e'\pi^+)n$ reaction has been measured for five kinematic settings at an invariant mass of $W = 1094$ MeV and for a four-momentum transfer of $Q^2 = 0.078$ (GeV/$c$)$^2$. The measurement has been performed at MAMI using a new short-orbit spectrometer (SOS) of the A1 collaboration, intended for detection of low-energy pions. The transverse and longitudinal cross section terms were separated using the Rosenbluth method and the transverse-longitudinal interference term has been determined from the left-right asymmetry. The experimental cross section terms are compared with the calculations of three models: DMT2001, MAID2007 and $\chi$MAID. The results show that we …
Search for Light Gauge Bosons of the Dark Sector at the Mainz Microtron

A new exclusion limit for the electromagnetic production of a light U(1) gauge boson {\gamma}' decaying to e^+e^- was determined by the A1 Collaboration at the Mainz Microtron. Such light gauge bosons appear in several extensions of the standard model and are also discussed as candidates for the interaction of dark matter with standard model matter. In electron scattering from a heavy nucleus, the existing limits for a narrow state coupling to e^+e^- were reduced by nearly an order of magnitude in the range of the lepton pair mass of 210 MeV/c^2 < m_e^+e^- < 300 MeV/c^2.
