A lo largo de los siglos XVI y XVII los servicios de espías y confidentes constituyeron una herramienta muy valiosa para la diplomacia y la acción de gobierno de numerosas cancillerías europeas. Esta contribución pretende analizar el impacto económico que suponía su financiación y reconstruir el perfil, vicisitudes y mentalidad de las personas que se integraron en las redes de espionaje de la Monarquía Hispánica durante la primera mitad del siglo XVII.

The main subject of this work is the study and the role ofabnormal trajectories in optimal control theory.We first recall some fundamental results in optimal control. Thenwe investigate the optimality of abnormal trajectories forsingle-input affine systems with constraint on the control, firstfor the time-optimal problem, and then for any cost, the finaltime being fixed or not.Using such an affine system,we extend this theory to sub-Riemannian systems of rank 2.These results show that, under general conditions, an abnormaltrajectory is \it{isolated} among all solutions of the systemhaving the same limit conditions, and thus is \it{locallyoptimal}, until a first \it{conjugate point} which ca…

In a discussion of the findings of extensive research of everyday household practices, this chapter suggests effective policy responses to increasingly more expensive petrol prices. Our research involved interviews, observations and analyses of low-income households adapting their mobility practices and residential locations within highly car-dependent urban environments. The chapter examines two main types of practices of households in car-dependent outer suburbs: either households opt 'to stay', forgoing sustained mobility and a varied range of activities, or they choose 'to go' and relocate in areas where travel costs are less of a burden on their budgets. International audience; Memory tasks combining storage and distracting tasks performed at either encoding or retrieval have provided divergent results pointing towards accounts of forgetting in terms of either temporal decay or event-based interference respectively. The aim of this study was to shed light on the possible sources of such a divergence that could rely on methodological aspects or deeper differences in the memory traces elicited by the different paradigms used.
