In this article, we analyze the management and political implications of COVID-19 in two small countries located at the EU’s north-eastern border: Finland and Estonia. Culturally, ethnically, and linguistically, they share a common Finno-Ugrian identity. Politically, both are parliamentary republics run by coalition governments. They were among the first countries in Europe to reopen borders for travel in June 2020 after almost three months of lockdown. Proscribing the Nordic Resistance Movement in Finland: Analyzing the Process and its Outcome

The Nordic Resistance Movement (NRM) was banned in Finland in 2020 after a court process lasting more than two and half years. This article details how effective the ban has been and how the organization has adapted to the ban, both during the process and after the verdict. The NRM has followed strategies similar to previous proscription cases, especially National Action in the UK in 2016, with whom NRM members discussed and shared experiences before the banning process began. Adaptation has meant new organizational forms and the founding of new associations. The boom in Chinese contemporary art is the result of China’s opening to foreign investment and private entrepreneurship in 1978, and the significant contribution by the transnational art enterprises of long-term patron-investor-collectors, such as Uli Sigg and Guy Ullens, between approximately 1989 and 2013. Through the opportunity offered by the gap between the private market mechanism and national heritage process for the “art game”, these investors used a variation of the controversial “Saatchi model” to generate high ROI. This research project examines socialized housing programs available to informal settlers in the megacity of Metro Manila, Philippines, and the socio-political and institutional relationships that enable or impede access to housing. Megacities are urban agglomerations with populations of over 10 million inhabitants and Asia and Africa contain some of the fastest growing cities in the world. Tässä tutkimuksessa tarkastelen Liikenteen turvallisuusviraston eli Trafin asiakaskirjeitä. Vertailen Trafin uudistamien kirjeiden vanhoja eli uudistusta edeltäneitä ja uusia eli uudistuksen jälkeisiä versioita toisiinsa. Tarkoituksena on selvittää, millaista kieltä nykyään pidetään valtion viraston viestintään sopivana. Tutkimuskysymykseni ovat (1) millaisia muutoksia kirjeisiin on tehty ja (2) millaista virkakielikäsitystä muutokset heijastelevat. Tutkimus sijoittuu virkakielen huollon ja virkakielen tutkimuksen kentälle. Virkakielellä tarkoitetaan valtion ja kuntien viranomaisten työssään käyttämää kieltä.
