Tutkielmani laajana taustateemana on menneisyyden omistaminen, jota olen tutkinut museokontekstissa. Tutkin paikallismuseoiden toimijoita: vapaaehtoisia museotyöntekijöitä ja virkansa puolesta museotyötä tekeviä, sekä heidän välisensä yhteistyön ongelmia, jotka johtuvat toimijoiden erilaisista päämääristä. This inductive, exploratory study is aimed at understanding venture capital as a business phenomenon, as someone's business. The mission is to contribute to strategising both inside and outside venture capital companies. The study centres around the 'doctor' whose serum - properly diagnosed, dosed, and injected – shields nations against economic retardation. Sir Thomas More's Utopia, published in 1516, is a classic work of how to organise a society based on common property. With a unique mix of common property, institutions and sound economic insights, we argue that More built a framework for a society that could be viable in the long run. While the conditions that make Utopia work are quite restrictive, it does provide a sketch of a society where common property may not stifle long‐term development, but is associated with productive workers and people content with their lives.

Laura Leppämäki rakentaa väitöskirjatutkimuksessaan kokonaiskuvaa tekijänoikeuskeskustelusta, joka on muodostunut hyvin kriittiseksi vallitsevaa järjestelmää kohtaan. Tutkimus sivuaa myös nykytaiteen ongelmia ja tekijänoikeuden kriteereitä.Tekijänoikeus kohtaa voimistuvaa kritiikkiä erityisesti käyttäjien suunnalta. Myös uusien teosten tekijät kritisoivat tekijänoikeutta liian tiukkana ja luovuutta kahlehtivana, sillä varsinkin jo olemassa olevien töiden hyödyntäminen on hankalaa. Olisi myös hyvä miettiä, onko omistaminen ja siitä kiinnipitäminen aina kohtuullista ja tarpeellista.
