Aims. We aim to adjust for potential non-participation bias in the prevalence of heavy alcohol consumption. Methods. Population survey data from Finnish health examination surveys conducted in 1987–2007 were linked to the administrative registers for mortality and morbidity follow-up until end of 2014. Utilising these data, available for both participants and non-participants, we model the association between heavy alcohol consumption and alcohol-related disease diagnoses. Results. In the present study, we aimed to explore the relationship between intensity of social media use (SMU), problematic SMU and well-being outcomes. Four categories of SMU were developed taking into account both intensity of use and problematic SMU simultaneously: non-active; active; intense; and problematic use. Kouluikäiset lapset ja nuoret viettävät päivittäin useita tunteja erilaisilla sosiaalisen median alustoilla (EU Kids, 2020). Keskeisenä kasvu- ja toimintaympäristönä sosiaalinen media (some) luo mahdollisuuksia muun muassa toimijuudelle, oppimiselle ja vuorovaikutukselle, mutta myös erilaisten ongelmatilanteiden rakentumiselle ja kohtaamiselle. Nettikiusaaminen, virheellisen tiedon tai vaarallisten some-haasteiden kohtaamisnen ovat esimerkkejä yleisistä somen ongelmatilanteista. Pro Gradu – tutkielmassa tarkastellaan lähisuhdeväkivaltaa sellaisissa perheissä, joiden vanhemmilla on päihdeongelma. Tutkimuksen kohteena on lähisuhdeväkivallalle kotonaan altistuneiden lasten ja nuorten toimijuus. Aikaisempi kotimainen tutkimus liittyen lasten toimijuuteen väkivallan yhteydessä on vähäistä. Tässä tutkielmassa haluttiin nostaa esiin lasten ja nuorten toimijuuden kokonaisuus heidän eläessään perheessä, jossa esiintyy alkoholisidonnaista lähisuhdeväkivaltaa.
