On flora semantics in house names found in Vidzeme: materials contained in the 1826 counting of souls in Vidzeme province The information of the counting of souls containing both house names and names of individuals is an essential aspect of historical onomastics. The first counting of souls in Vidzeme took place in 1782 and coincided with the 4 th analogous census of the provinces of Russia. Subsequently these took place at irregular intervals, the 5 th in 1795, the 6 th in 1811, the 7 th in 1816, the 8 th in 1834, the 9 th in 1850, and the final, 10 th in 1858. The text of the three Catalan editions of «Història de les amors de París i Viana», published in Barcelona and Girona in the last decade of the fifteenth century, shows a linguistic orientation towards Castilian and Italian onomastics. It has led to postulate two hypotheses on its textual dependence: a Castilian origin and an Italian origin. A revision of the text as translation and adaptation for the printing allows to ascertain the confluence of two linguistic layers: one, of the first half of the fifteenth century, which explains the persistence of archaic features and the Italian onomastics, and another, contemporary with the edition, which accounts for the Castilian orientation of the …

The objective of the article is an axiological analysis of the Silesian geographical names and the justification of its usefulness in school didactics. Educating pupils by means of proper names integrates linguistic, cultural, historical and political contents. Discussions on names and their justification teach tolerance and patriotism, highlight fundamental values such as family, work, homeland and religion, and emphasize traditions and attachment to one’s “little homeland”. The article focuses on digital discourses related to Helsinki, Espoo and Vantaa, the three biggest municipalities in Finland’s capital region. The data consist of texts from the discussion forum of Suomi24 that was analysed to find out how forum users produce socio-spatial distinctions by categorizing some groups as ‘others’ thus differentiating in-groups and out-groups. The analysis used methods of comprised corpus assisted discourse studies (CADS), including collocation analysis.
