Development of a New Clusterization Method for the GEM-TPC Detector

2022

The Facility for Antiproton and Ion Research FAIR, in Darmstadt Germany, will be one of the largest accelerator laboratories worldwide. The Superconducting FRagment Separator (Super-FRS)* is one of its main components. The Super-FRS can produce, separate and deliver high-energy radioactive beams with intensities up to 1e11 ions/s, covering projectiles from protons up to uranium and it can be used as an independent experimental device. The Gas Electron Multiplier-based Time Projection Chambers (GEM-TPC) in twin configuration is a newly developed beam tracking detector capable of providing spatial resolution of less than 1 mm with a tracking efficiency close to 100% at 1 MHz counting rate. Food Security Is None Of Your Business? Food Supply Chain Management In Support Of A Sustainable Food System

2017

Food security is the principal outcome of any given food system and it can be defined in terms of a sustainable food system where the core goal is to feed everyone sustainably, equitably and healthily. A sustainable food system addresses needs for availability, affordability and accessibility, is diverse, ecologically-sound and resilient, and builds the capabilities and skills necessary for future generations. This paper identifies the essential elements of food supply chain management in support of a sustainable food system, which ultimately enhances food security. The existing food supply chain and food system literature is synthesized in order to study the correspondence between public i…

Which firms benefit from investments in green energy technologies? : The effect of energy costs

2019

Abstract Firms will invest in green energy technologies only if these investments have an economic pay-off. Based on unique firm-level data from Austria, Germany, and Switzerland, we find that the marginal effect of investments in green energy technologies on productivity is positive only for the 19% of firms with the highest energy costs. These results have major implications for companies and policy makers regarding the design of green energy policies and incentives.

Miten me-henkeä mitataan : työilmapiirikyselyn validiteetin tutkiminen

2014

2022

Th is article explores the importance of geographical indications within the new trade policy of the European Union, using the example of the CETA and the dispute over Cypriot halloumi cheese. Th e authors point out that geographical indications occupy an important place within the European Commission’s negotiating strategy primarily because of their signifi cance for the EU economy. In negotiations with third countries, such as Canada, a crucial problem is the diff erent approaches to the protection of typical regional products. Th erefore, the Union is trying to transfer its internal solutions to the international level. Th e detail of regulations, combined with the mixed nature of new tr…
