Property (w) under compact or Riesz perturbations

2010

Si studia la permanenza della proprietà (w), una variante del Teorema di Weyl, nel caso che un operatore sia perturbato da un operatore compatto oppure di Riesz

Pseudo-Bosons from Landau Levels

2010

We construct examples of pseudo-bosons in two dimensions arising from the Hamiltonian for the Landau levels. We also prove a no-go result showing that non-linear combinations of bosonic creation and annihilation operators cannot give rise to pseudo-bosons.

On symplectically rigid local systems of rank four and Calabi–Yau operators

2013

AbstractWe classify all Sp4(C)-rigid, quasi-unipotent local systems and show that all of them have geometric origin. Furthermore, we investigate which of those having a maximal unipotent element are induced by fourth order Calabi–Yau operators. Via this approach, we reconstruct all known Calabi–Yau operators inducing an Sp4(C)-rigid monodromy tuple and obtain closed formulae for special solutions of them.

Rolewicz-type chaotic operators

2015

In this article we introduce a new class of Rolewicz-type operators in l_p, $1 \le p < \infty$. We exhibit a collection F of cardinality continuum of operators of this type which are chaotic and remain so under almost all finite linear combinations, provided that the linear combination has sufficiently large norm. As a corollary to our main result we also obtain that there exists a countable collection of such operators whose all finite linear combinations are chaotic provided that they have sufficiently large norm.

On the composition and decomposition of positive linear operators (VII)

2021

In the present paper we study the compositions of the piecewise linear interpolation operator S?n and the Beta-type operator B?n, namely An:= S?n ?B?n and Gn := B?n ? S?n. Voronovskaya type theorems for the operators An and Gn are proved, substantially improving some corresponding known results. The rate of convergence for the iterates of the operators Gn and An is considered. Some estimates of the differences between An, Gn, Bn and S?n, respectively, are given. Also, we study the behaviour of the operators An on the subspace of C[0,1] consisting of all polygonal functions with nodes {0, 1/2,..., n-1/n,1}. Finally, we propose to the readers a conjecture concerning the eigenvalues of the ope…

Grothendieck-type subsets of Banach lattices

2022

Abstract In the setting of Banach lattices the weak (resp. positive) Grothendieck spaces have been defined. We localize such notions by defining new classes of sets that we study and compare with some quite related different classes. This allows us to introduce and compare the corresponding linear operators.

Intrinsic characterizations of perturbation classes on some Banach spaces

2010

We investigate relationships between inessential operators and improjective operators acting between Banach spaces X and Y, emphasizing the case in which one of the spaces is a C(K) space. We show that they coincide in many cases, but they are different in the case X=Y =C(K 0), where K 0 is a compact space constructed by Koszmider. Hamiltonians Generated by Parseval Frames

2021

AbstractIt is known that self-adjoint Hamiltonians with purely discrete eigenvalues can be written as (infinite) linear combination of mutually orthogonal projectors with eigenvalues as coefficients of the expansion. The projectors are defined by the eigenvectors of the Hamiltonians. In some recent papers, this expansion has been extended to the case in which these eigenvectors form a Riesz basis or, more recently, a ${\mathcal{D}}$ D -quasi basis (Bagarello and Bellomonte in J. Phys. A 50:145203, 2017, Bagarello et al. in J. Math. Phys. 59:033506, 2018), rather than an orthonormal basis. Here we discuss what can be done when these sets are replaced by Parseval frames. This interest is moti…

Approximation properties of λ-Kantorovich operators

2018

In the present paper, we study a new type of Bernstein operators depending on the parameter \documentclass[12pt]{minimal} \usepackage{amsmath} \usepackage{wasysym} \usepackage{amsfonts} \usepackage{amssymb} \usepackage{amsbsy} \usepackage{mathrsfs} \usepackage{upgreek} \setlength{\oddsidemargin}{-69pt} \begin{document}$\lambda\in[-1,1]$\end{document}λ∈[−1,1]. The Kantorovich modification of these sequences of linear positive operators will be considered. A quantitative Voronovskaja type theorem by means of Ditzian–Totik modulus of smoothness is proved. Also, a Grüss–Voronovskaja type theorem for λ-Kantorovich operators is provided. Some numerical examples which show the relevance of the res…
