Does predictability matter? Effects of cue predictability on neurocognitive mechanisms underlying prospective memory

Prospective memory (PM) represents the ability to successfully realize intentions when the appropriate moment or cue occurs. In this study, we used event-related potentials (ERPs) to explore the impact of cue predictability on the cognitive and neural mechanisms supporting PM. Participants performed an ongoing task and, simultaneously, had to remember to execute a pre-specified action when they encountered the PM cues. The occurrence of the PM cues was predictable (being signalled by a warning cue) for some participants and was completely unpredictable for others. Krāsu sakārtošanas testu rezultātu analīze ar kvantitatīvām metodēm

Bakalaura darbs ir uzrakstīts latviešu valodā uz 35 lappusēm. Tas satur 23 attēlus, 6 tabulas, 3 pielikumus, 31 literatūras avota atsauces. Mērķis: Izvērtēt piesātināto un nepiesātināto D15 krāsu sakārtošanas testu un HRR pseidoizohromatisko plašu jutību un specificitāti sarkani-zaļā krāsu redzes defekta un normālas krāsu redzes gadījumos. Metode: Pētījumā piedalījās 28 dalībnieki, no kuriem 12 dalībniekiem bija sarkani-zaļais krāsu redzes defekts. Krāsu redze tika novērtēta ar HMC Oculus anomaloskopu, HRR pseidoizohromatisko krāsu platēm un piesātināto un nepiesātināto D15 krāsu sakārtošanas testiem. Tika secināts, ka kvantitatīvās metodes vienlīdz labi analizē krāsu sakārtošanas testus.

Tiam1 as a Signaling Mediator of Nerve Growth Factor-Dependent Neurite Outgrowth

Nerve Growth Factor (NGF)-induced neuronal differentiation requires the activation of members of the Rho family of small GTPases. However, the molecular mechanisms through which NGF regulates cytoskeletal changes and neurite outgrowth are not totally understood. In this work, we identify the Rac1-specific guanine exchange factor (GEF) Tiam1 as a novel mediator of NGF/TrkA-dependent neurite elongation. In particular, we report that knockdown of Tiam1 causes a significant reduction in Rac1 activity and neurite outgrowth induced by NGF.
