Optimal Buffer Resource Allocation in Wireless Caching Networks

Wireless caching systems have been exhaustively investigated in recent years. Due to limited buffer capacity, and unbalanced arrival and service rates, the backlogs may exist in the caching node and even cause buffer overflow. In this paper, we first investigate the relationship among backlogs, buffer capacity, data arrival rate and service rate, utilizing the martingale theory which is flexible in handling any arrival and service processes. This paper investigates the energy efficiency (EE) optimization in downlink multi-cell massive multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO). In our research, the statistical channel state information (CSI) is exploited to reduce the signaling overhead. AbstractModern companies regularly use social media to communicate with their customers. In addition to the content, the reach of a social media post may depend on the season, the day of the week, and the time of the day. We consider optimizing the timing of Facebook posts by a large Finnish consumers’ cooperative using historical data on previous posts and their reach. Efficient spatial designs using Hausdorff distances and Bayesian optimization

An iterative Bayesian optimisation technique is presented to find spatial designs of data that carry much information. We use the decision theoretic notion of value of information as the design criterion. Gaussian process surrogate models enable fast calculations of expected improvement for a large number of designs, while the full-scale value of information evaluations are only done for the most promising designs. AbstractThe extraction of aluminium from dilute phosphoric acid with di-2-ethylhexyl phosphoric acid (DEHPA) was optimized using response surface methodology. The optimization was based on the experimental three-level central composite face-centred design (CCF) and was conducted on real-life samples. The three variables included were pH, extractant concentration and aqueous to organic phase ratio (AO). Under the optimized conditions (pH 2.5, 0.6 M DEHPA and AO ratio 1:2), extraction efficiency of 99% for aluminium in four extraction stages is achieved. An Investigation of the Robustness in the Travelling Salesman Problem Routes Using Special Structured Matrices

In this study, the robustness of the Travelling Salesman Problem (TSP) routes is investigated by recognising the special combinatorial structures of Kalmanson matrices. A recognition algorithm encompassing three procedures based on combinatorial and linear programming (LP) is developed and executed on several randomly generated instances. These procedures produce three lower bounds which provide guarantees on the optimality of the solutions. Computational experiments show that the proposed LP-based procedure performs efficiently well across all problem dimensions and provides the best lower bounds to the TSP.
