Tässä tutkielmassa tarkastelen antiikin Kreikan vaasimaalausten modernistien ilmaisuun antamia virikkeitä keskittyen formaalien piirteiden suoraan vaikutukseen, sivuten aiheita ja symboleita sekä epäsuoraa vaikutusta. Tutkielman rakenteen muotoutumiseen ja kuva-aineiston, lähinnä formalistiseen, purkuun on löytynyt työkaluja sekä taidehistorian että semiotiikan metodeista: tärkeimpinä Panofskyn kolmitasoinen malli, Gombrichin skeeman käsite sekä Kandinskyn, Arnheimin ja Rieglin näkemykset. Diplomdarba tēma ir „Etnogrāfisko rakstu motīvu izmantošana apdrukas dizainā‖. Diplomdarba mērķis ir, balstoties uz teorētiskajā daļā iegūtajām zināšanām, un pētnieciskajā daļā iegūtajiem rezultātiem, izveidot katalogu ar baltu zīmju ornamentu paraugiem, kuri domāti apdrukas iespējām. Lai veiksmīgi realizētu darba izvirzīto mērķi, tika veikta latviešu un lietuviešu zīmju un rakstu salīdzināšana. Pētījuma rezultātā tika secināts, ka latviešu, lietuviešu zīmēs un rakstos ir daudz līdzību un vienojošu elementu. Šīs līdzības var izmantot veidojot jaunus ornamentu variantus. An update of the known distribution and status of Cherax spp. in Italy (Crustacea, Parastacidae)

To date, only two Cherax species have been reported to occur in Italy, i.e., C. destructor Clark, 1936 and C. quadricarinatus (von Martens, 1868), both in the wild and in aquaculture farms. Therefore, we aimed to update their current status and distribution in Italian mainland and Sicily. In addition, we investigated the origin of their known populations, and their possible routes of invasion. Izpētes darba uzdevums ir skaidrot Latvijas bruņoto spēku atribūtikas saikni ar Latvijas valsts un municipālo heraldiku, kā arī saikni ar nacionālo simboliku tautas ornamenta dimensijā. Identificējot un uzskaitot izpētes elementu klātbūtni vienību atribūtikā, tiek rasti secinājumi par iespējamām likumsakarībām un zināmu sistēmu. Darbs apskata publiski pieejamo Latvijas bruņoto spēku atribūtiku pēc neatkarības atgūšanas, analizējot vizuālo attēlojumu pēc noteiktajiem kritērijiem, lai secinātu, cik lielā mērā ir saglabāta saikne ar Valsts simboliem un tautas senajām tradīcijām.

First Report of Phytophthora palmivora on Grevillea spp. in Italy.

The genus Grevillea (family Proteaceae) comprises over 300 species and is a popular and widely cultivated group of Australian plants. In the last 3 years, numerous potted grevilleas with symptoms of decline associated with a rot of feeder roots were found in ornamental nurseries in Sicily. Aboveground symptoms were reduced growth, yellowing of foliage, wilt, dieback, and death of the entire plant. The disease was observed on many commercial cultivars and was especially severe on G. alpina (mountain grevillea), G. juniperina (juniper-leaf grevillea), G. lavandulacea (lavender grevillea), and G. rosmarinifolia (rosemary grevillea) as well as the hybrid cultivars Clearview David (G. lavandula…
