El trabajo explica la relación entre la persona que encarga o compra una obra de arte -conocida habitualmente como "mecenas"- y el artista. En este caso se trata de la persona del valenciano Antonio Pontons y el escultor genovés Ponzanelli. Éste es autor de las seis esculturas que adornaban el llamado "Huerto de Pontons", mansión y jardines situados en las cercanías de la ciudad de Valencia. Dicho huerto fue destruido a principios del presente siglo aunque se conservan las esculturas.

El presente artículo analiza, a partir de la documentación, el palacio del obispo de Tortosa don Alfonso de Aragón, edificado en la calle Caballeros de la ciudad de Valencia en el quicio de los siglos XV al XVI. Las obras incluyen la remodelación de las fachadas y la escalera del patio, asi como la decoración de las salas interiores con una de las más tempranas muestras de motivos "a la romana". (A)

ABSTRACT- The family Fabaceae: the ornamental species cultivated in a Mediterranean area (W Sicily, Italy) and an identification key for - A study undertaken between 1997 and 2000 in a Mediterranean area, W Sicily (Italy), has shown that the ornamental flora of is formed by 633 species, of which 38 appertain to 21 genera. Indications of this family, genus and species are given with an identification key. Trees, shrubs, herbaceous and climbing species belonging to Fabaceae and cultivated in Western Sicily gardens are listed.
