Spin crossover behavior under pressure of Fe(PM-L)2(NCS)2 compounds with substituted 2′-pyridylmethylene 4-anilino ligands
1998
Abstract New iron(II) spin crossover systems with large aromatic ligands, based on 2′-pyridylmethylene 4-anilino units, have been synthesized and studied. The whole range of spin crossover behavior has been observed, starting from pure high-spin to more or less complete gradual transitions and finally to discontinuous type transitions with both small and large hysteresis. Magnetic measurements under pressure have revealed that two of the compounds exhibit pressure-induced new phases with larger hysteresis than at atmospheric pressure. For one of the compounds the formation of this new phase is irreversible and the hysteresis width is ∼100 K, as compared to 37 K before applying pressure.
Room temperature hysteretic spin crossover in a new cyanoheterometallic framework.
2019
A new iron(II)-based spin-crossover compound with thermal hysteresis operating under ambient conditions is reported. This complex exhibits a high reproducibility of the spin transition in many successive thermal cycles, stability of both spin states at room temperature and an attractive operational temperature range.
Il tonno rosso. Allevamento, commercio, industria conserviera
2008
IqYmune® is an effective maintenance treatment for multifocal motor neuropathy: A randomised, double‐blind, multi‐center cross‐over non‐inferiority s…
2018
Intravenous immunoglobulin (IVIg) is the gold-standard for maintenance treatment of multifocal motor neuropathy (MMN). This phase III, randomised, double-blind, multi-centre, active-control, crossover study, aimed to evaluate the non-inferiority of IqYmune® relative to Kiovig®, primarily based on efficacy criteria. Twenty-two adult MMN patients, treated with any brand of IVIg (except Kiovig® or IqYmune®) at a stable maintenance dose within the range of 1 to 2 g/kg every 4 to 8 weeks, were randomised to receive either Kiovig® followed by IqYmune®, or IqYmune® followed by Kiovig®. Each product was administered for 24 weeks. The primary endpoint was the difference between IqYmune® and Kiovig® …
Ecological Analysis of the Helminth Community of Microtus lusitanicus (Gerbe, 1879) (Rodentia) in Asturias (NW Spain)
2021
Simple Summary The Lusitanian pine vole is an endemic rodent of the Iberian Peninsula, which has a burrowing behaviour and prefers to live underground. It feeds on bark and roots causing severe damage to trees. In Asturias (NW Spain), this species is considered a pest causing economic losses in apple orchards, damaging the tree, and sometimes even causing its death. With the aim to shed light on the helminth community of this rodent pest species and to elucidate which intrinsic and extrinsic factors affect its helminth species, a faunistic-ecological study was carried out. For this purpose, our own collection of 710 voles from several orchards of various locations in Asturias was used. The …
Functional Connection Between the Clb5 Cyclin, the Protein Kinase C Pathway and the Swi4 Transcription Factor in Saccharomyces cerevisiae
2005
Abstract The rsf12 mutation was isolated in a synthetic lethal screen for genes functionally interacting with Swi4. RSF12 is CLB5. The clb5 swi4 mutant cells arrest at G2/M due to the activation of the DNA-damage checkpoint. Defects in DNA integrity was confirmed by the increased rates of chromosome loss and mitotic recombination. Other results suggest the presence of additional defects related to morphogenesis. Interestingly, genes of the PKC pathway rescue the growth defect of clb5 swi4, and pkc1 and slt2 mutations are synthetic lethal with clb5, pointing to a connection between Clb5, the PKC pathway, and Swi4. Different observations suggest that like Clb5, the PKC pathway and Swi4 are in…
Comparative evaluation of Stevia and Xylitol chewing gum on salivary Streptococcus mutans count ? A pilot study
2020
Background Stevia is a natural sweetener which is used as sugar substitute. It has been suggested that stevia may be anticariogenic. However, there is limited research in this regard. Hence, the present study was designed to assess reduction in S. mutans in stevia and xylitol chewing gums. The aim of this study is to evaluate the effectiveness of stevia and xylitol chewing gums on salivary Streptococcus mutans count. Material and methods A randomized triple blinded clinical study with a crossover design included twenty healthy children aged 8-13 years with decayed, missing, and filled teeth (dmft)/DMFT index score ≥ 3. Before the test, unstimulated saliva was collected. Children divided int…
A hybrid genetic algorithm for the resource-constrained project scheduling problem
2008
Abstract In this paper we propose a Hybrid Genetic Algorithm (HGA) for the Resource-Constrained Project Scheduling Problem (RCPSP). HGA introduces several changes in the GA paradigm: a crossover operator specific for the RCPSP; a local improvement operator that is applied to all generated schedules; a new way to select the parents to be combined; and a two-phase strategy by which the second phase re-starts the evolution from a neighbour’s population of the best schedule found in the first phase. The computational results show that HGA is a fast and high quality algorithm that outperforms all state-of-the-art algorithms for the RCPSP known by the authors of this paper for the instance sets j…

Chaotic multiagent system approach for MRF-based image segmentation
2005
In this paper, we propose a new chaotic approach for image segmentation based on multiagent system (MAS). We consider a set of segmentation agents organized around a coordinator agent. Each segmentation agent performs iterated conditional modes (ICM) starting from its own initial image created using a chaotic mapping. The coordinator agent diversifies the initial images using a crossover and a chaotic mutation operators. The efficiency of our chaotic MAS approach is shown through some experimental results.
