This paper describes a CBIR algorithm which combines relevance feedback, evolutionary computation concepts and distance-based learning in an attempt to reduce the existing gap between the high level semantic content of the images and the information provided by their low-level descriptors. Crossover, double-blind clinical trial comparing almotriptan and ergotamine plus caffeine for acute migraine therapy

In this randomized, double-blind, crossover clinical trial, adult patients treated two migraine attacks: one with almotriptan 12.5 mg and the other with ergotamine 2 mg plus caffeine 200 mg. Treatment with almotriptan was associated with a significantly greater proportion of patients achieving 2-h pain free (20.9% vs. 13.7%; P < 0.05) and 2-h pain relief (57.7% vs. 44.5%; P < 0.01) compared with ergotamine plus caffeine therapy; significant differences were not seen at 1 h. Psychomotor abnormalities are one of the complications of opioid therapy in advanced cancer patients. Caffeine has potential properties to counteract the central effects of morphine. Twelve patients receiving stable doses of slow release morphine with adequate pain relief were scheduled for this double-blind placebo-controlled crossover trial. Field-induced slow relaxation of magnetization in a mononuclear Co(II) complex of 2,6-bis(pyrazol-1-yl)pyridine functionalized with a carboxylic acid

Abstract Combining Co(II) with the 2,6-bis-(pyrazol1-yl)pyridine ligand functionalized with a carboxylic acid group (bppCOOH) results in the compound [CoII(bppCOOH)2](ClO4)2·2Me2CO, which shows a field-induced slow relaxation of magnetization as a result of the magnetic anisotropy of the distorted octahedral coordination of high-spin Co(II). Co(II)/Fe(II) solid solutions of bppCOOH have been prepared to study the influence of Co(II) on the spin crossover properties of Fe(II). Magnetic characterization of [Fe0.92Co0.08(bppCOOH)2](ClO4)2 indicates that the Cobalt dopant leads to a reduction of T1/2 and a loss of cooperativity of the spin transition.
