Regulation of IgE production and airway reactivity by CD4(-)CD8(-) regulatory T cells

The mechanisms of tolerance induction occurring in the course of allergen-specific immunotherapy have not been elucidated in full detail. Our study aimed to characterize high zone tolerance in mouse models of type I allergy and of allergic airway inflammation induced by subcutaneous sensitization of mice with high doses of the model allergen ovalbumin (OVA) without the use of adjuvant. Mice were immunized by subcutaneous injection of high doses (HD) of OVA or, for comparison, low doses (LD) of OVA in saline. HD-mice showed lower specific IgE, but augmented IgG in sera than LD-mice. Development and in vitro Evaluation of Antigen-Loaded Poly(amidoamine) Nanoparticles for Respiratory Epithelium Applications

A poly(amidoamine) with disulfide linkages in the main chain and 4-hydroxybutyl and ω-carboxy-PEG groups (9:1 ratio) as side chains was prepared by Michael addition polymerization of cystamine bisacrylamide with 4-hydroxybutylamine and ω-carboxy-PEG-amine. To develop therapeutic protein formulations for improved delivery of antigen via the intranasal route, nanoparticles were prepared from this polymer by self-assembly with p24 or ovalbumin as the model proteins and CpG as the adjuvant. Crystallization of the CaCO3 mineral in the presence of the protein ovalbumin

Abstract The kinetics of CaCO3 mineralization was studied by SANS in a 0.1 M aqueous CaCl2 solution in the presence of the protein ovalbumin found in chicken eggs. As the scattering from the protein and the mineral was observed within different Q regimes the evolution of the protein and mineral could be followed independently. It is observed that ovalbumin denaturates during the first 3 h and leads to a strong enhancement of mineralization.
